Re: How many Metroliners is enough?

(...) I wasn't questing to be accurate so much as picky(1), but thanks for the positive spin :) With the presidential debates happening just now, and thus real detail lacking, I momentarily felt the need for more of it in my life. (...) All too (...) (25 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: My second architecture project

(...) Hmm. How would a difference operation be useful for a spiral staircase? LDScript would have been useful for doing the risers. The angle is a function of Y, and LDScript has looping. That handrail would have been a pain in DAT-world, no matter (...) (25 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: A joke I got a work

We get 'em in plastic bags in the UK... not that absorbent really. Steve (25 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: My second architecture project

(...) Uh, no. It's strictly POV code. Almost entirely differences and unions of boxes and cylinders. Imagine the pain of doing a spiral staircase without a loop and a difference command...now you know why there's no DAT file :) --Bram (25 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: My second architecture project

(...) My God that is beautiful. That should be in a museum. Are you gonna post the .dat file for that? I think I'll have to kill you if you don't (j/k) P.S. Can I live in that house :) -dead (25 years ago, 11-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Re: My second architecture project

(...) Thanks for the kind words. I wish I could have it built...but I don't really have a spare couple $100K... If you want to build it, I'll galdly take compensation for the design :) After all, the studio could be turned into a LEGO room...and (...) (25 years ago, 11-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  My second architecture project

It's done! Anyone feel inspired to build it out of LEGO? (URL) (25 years ago, 11-Oct-00, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: How many Metroliners is enough?

(...) While I certainly sympathise with your quest for accuracy, I must point out that you yourself could stand to develop some additional meaning here, Tommo... To wit(1): How big of a closet? I've some big ones and some small ones. I like the big (...) (25 years ago, 10-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

I'm offended! Nah, not really - one of my coworkers kept doing that to the ranks of battle droids I had set up ;-) (...) -- | Tom Stangl, Technical Support Netscape Communications Corp | Please do not associate my personal views with my employer (25 years ago, 10-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Checks strongly discouraged for Factoring for the next few weeks

(...) Josette is the marital unit. (...) At 19 years of service as of the last service anniversary date, she's no longer trainable for new tasks. Besides, I kind of like her, although I wish she liked LEGO a BIT more than she does. Ok, a lot more. (...) (25 years ago, 10-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) Ditto. I'm all Technic and can't find the monorail in question. I'd like more info on that one so that I can find it or the URL e-mailed! Thanx! /Tobbe - tnt@arnesson.nu (25 years ago, 9-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Spoilers (was: Re: F1, Ferrari and the 8458)

(...) Last time I checked, if you include an ASCII #12 (Page Feed) character in your post, then the "Brief" mode displays will chop everything past this when displaying. ASCII #12 (Ctrl-L on some keyboards) has a long-established Usenet tradition (...) (25 years ago, 8-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

As long as the filmmaker is also the same orientation as his fictional minifigs, I think it's funny as hell! Besides, how many of us can honestly say to ourselves that we haven't done this sort of thing with our toys. However, I think TLG would (...) (25 years ago, 8-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Warning! For Mature Audiences Only!

I would have liked to see what all the hoo hah was about, but when I enter "town monorail" or even just "monorail" into the search engine, all I get are a bunch of monorail accessories, and two Space monorails. Since I don't want to search through (...) (25 years ago, 8-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
