Good idea.
However many consider it polite not to change the location of the post without
any warning. Since you posted to ONLY off-topic.debate, people who subscribe to
dear-lego by mail, or even by nntp, didn’t see your post at all, and don’t know
that you are moving the discussion, Further, people who read off-topic that way
don’t necessarily have the context.
It’s considered a better practice (when steering discussion from A to B) to do
it this way
Post to both A and B (so both readerships know what is happening)
Set the FUT to just B (so posts are automatically directed to B)
Note that the recently introduced ForceFUT doesn’t exactly adhere to this
perfectly due to technical limitations... the post that got its FUT forced to B
doesn’t appear in B.
