Is the latter the cost paid by the US for the first Gulf war only, or
the total cost? The first Gulf war, being sactioned by the UN, was not
paid exclusively by the US. Far from it, the bill was shared between
many countries. The present war with Iraq, on the other hand, will have
to be paid to a larger degree by the US, causing a much larger economic
impact.
