I would dispute this. First of all, in what sense? Absolute? In that
case, there is no dominant religion, since none can claim a majority.
If you mean in a relative sense, more sheer numbers than any other, I
believe Islam might have you edged out slightly. Certainly too close to
call. Depending on how loosely you interpret differences between
various Eastern beliefs, Christianity becomes a distant tie for second.
And before you call me on lumping different Eastern religions together,
consider how different Roman Catholics are from Branch Davidians. Yet
claiming a billion Christians requires throwing them in the same basket.
