What i would like to know is:

1- what really happened to the flight over pennsylvania
2- what happened to the 5th plane that was initially reported to have been
highjacked
3- what happened with the car bomb that was reported to have exploded outside
the state department in washington

#2 and #3 were initially reported, then just disappeared from news reports. I
want to know why.

Things i have heard (rumours):

- the pennsylvania flight *was* shot down, but the hero story was created to
soothe the nation.  I would like to know more about the people who allegedly
recieved phone calls from the heros and their connections to the government
etc.

- The 5th plane (a Denver to New York flight) was shot down, over Colorado, en
route to the Hoover Dam, its intended target.

There are dark deeds being done constantly, 'for our own good' and 'in the
nations interest'.  The only way the world's sham democracies have a hope in
*hell* of surviving and living up to their proclaimed ethics is if the
banks/credit card companies, oil companies and defense contractors are
destroyed.  Sure the economy would suffer for a while, but we would be left
with alternative energy sources, decreased personal debtloads, and we wouldn't
waste money on things like stealth bombers when people freeze to death in the
streets of our cities every winter.  Things have to change.

What angers me most about this whole situation is that *we*, the people (okay,
i am canadian, so not technically my people, but americans are people too,
despite what some say!), paid the blood price for the governments shady
dealings and power games.

I keep thinking that this whole situation reminds me of the graphic Novel 'The
Watchmen' by Alan Moore.  If you haven't read it, do so, if you have, read it
again.  If these people were sacrificed for a better world, maybe their deaths
weren't meaningless, but i think they died so some people (the rich) would get
a better world.  In that case, as it says in the bible, 'their blood cries out
from the ground.'  They demand justice, not justice for the direct culprits,
but for those who allowed it to happen, and all that that implies...

George R Martin said it best:  In war, the kings lead, the people bleed.

Sorry for the rant.  I just watched fight club.  Best movie ever made.

That's one of the million dollar questions, and we may have to content ourselves with "the passengers appear to have disrupted the hijackers' plan which then resulted in the crash of the plane." It doesn't seem likely that we'll ever have a (...) (23 years ago, 21-Nov-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
