Re: Pokemon (was: Harry Potter Lego Line)

(...) an (...) Pokemon, (...) You need the cart, but not the GB. And if you want to trade with anyone else who has the GB version, then you'll need an additional cart interface thingy, which (I believe) is another $30.   Re: What age does buying lego become embarrassing?

(...) He did state using a SUV as a "commuter" was stupid. I'd tend to agree. Of course I drive an hour to work, so 15 MPG won't work for me 'cause I don't get paid that much. Also I want to blame those types of vehicles for why our gas prices have (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.general)

Re: Pokemon (was: Harry Potter Lego Line)

(...) One of the things that has kept me from buying Pokemon Stadium is that it seems heavily geared towards people who own a Game Boy and the Pokemon game for GB- the "rental" Pokemon in Stadium are always described as "inferior" to Pokemon you (...) (...) with (...) Well...The 64 game is just the fighting aspects, with none of the (admittedly limited) RPG elements from the Game Boy version. It does let you use your GB pokemon in the 64 environment, which is cool, and offers a better GUI for (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) wouldn't (...) I'd like to hear more about the idea of true costs. What would be included in the true costs of automobile ownership? The cost of maintaining roads? The cost of pollution? -- Jeff <jthompson@esker.com> "Float on a river, forever (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.general)

Re: What age does buying lego become embarrassing?

(...) Well, you're right. However I will say that I wish we hadn't gotten our Durango, it's a gashog, and I'd rather have spent the extra gas money on something else. Getting Josette to drive the Stratus (which get 35 mpg driven correctly) is a (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.general)

Kevin, (...) purchases, (...) theirs. (...) make (...) your (...) Funny how with one sentence you say you should not worry about what other people think about purchases, and then in the next sentence, you are worried about other people's purchases. (...)   Re: Pokemon (was: Harry Potter Lego Line)

(...) The reason for different mosters in different version is pretty simple- you're supposed to buy one and trade (via the Link Cable) with other players. Pokemon was Nintendo's answer to the Tamagotchi trend. The advantage that Pokemon had was (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) Whew! (...) The cartoon basically simulates cockfighting, which is an image that I would prefer not to idealize for the kids. Chris (24 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate)
