I mean, what makes cockfighting more violent than, say, Star Wars? note: I feel that cockfighting is bad, but I just haven't seen a good enough explanation to justify that feeling to myself... I suppose that to some small extent the Pokemon show does embody a bit of the cultural Japanese disdain towards animals (witness whaling), but it doesn't really strike me as cockfighting.
