Who looked like the bigger idiot?

I suppose I could have been nicer and said, "Who won the debate?" Bush looked like a bad impression of Chevy Chase when he was making faces while Kerry was talking. I couldn't figure out if he was annoyed with Kerry, somewhat drunk, or was suffering (...) (20 years ago, 1-Oct-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Maybe I've been wrong about this Antonin Scalia fellow

Honestly, don't we all need to relieve a little (URL) social tension> now and again? Presumably sodomy still would not be allowed. Dave! (20 years ago, 1-Oct-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

Re: Driver humiliated by Texas judge

(...) Australia has had random breath testing for many years now. The officers set up beside the road and randomly stop drivers going past. They don't generally inspect the car, so unless they see something obviously illegal, you'll probably be ok, (...) (20 years ago, 1-Oct-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

Re: Driver humiliated by Texas judge

(...) Was this in New Rome, OH? (2 URLs) (former) very existence of New Rome is, in my view, a very telling argument against allowing police to stop people without probable cause. (20 years ago, 30-Sep-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Driver humiliated by Texas judge

(...) At least in the US, there's plenty of reasons officers already have to stop drivers. Years ago, my family was stopped once for having a misaligned headlight that just so happened to be pointing in the officer's eye as he was sitting opposite (...)   Re: Driver humiliated by Texas judge

(...) For me, what random testing means is that the fuzz can stop drivers without reason. This is important, as drunk-drivers often drive quite well in normal traffic if they are aware of their situation and are on familiar roads… they never pass (...)   Re: Lavender Brick Society

It's just too tempting. (...) Nah. They probably think of you as a narrow-minded, bigoted, right-wing, Bible-thumping homophobe because: 1) You seem adamant that everyone who argued against your point is wrong, and is also a hatemonger, solely on (...)   Re: Virgin Galactic (was Re: Some good news for a change, maybe?

(...) Well you could try his webpage: (URL) I didn't read as much naysayer out of that as you did. It seems to me like a realistic assessment of the situation. However I suspect the writing context of the article is sloppy. I'm pretty sure some of (...) (20 years ago, 28-Sep-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

It's only natural (Was Re: Why these news groups were created

(...) A problem for the other side, I guess, but yes, a problem. I know what the organic crowd is trying to get at, they'd rather not see manufactured banana flavourings in their milkshakes for example, and I know what the "homosexuality isn't (...)   Re: Why these news groups were created

(...) This is sort of how I feel. Of course it does seem to make unnatural a less useful term. Even supernatural is a difficult term, though it's use to separate God from God's creation (assuming you accept the existence of a creator god, or a (...)   Re: Why these news groups were created

(...) I've approached Jefferson several times with sure-fire business propositions, but he never returns my calls. Something about "entangling alliances." Dave! (20 years ago, 28-Sep-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

Re: Why these news groups were created

(...) I may be misunderstanding you, but are you identifying the lack of a point of distinction (between natural and unnatural or natural and artificial) as the problem? I'm not clear on this objection, I'm afraid. (...) Yeah, I guess it's a matter (...) (20 years ago, 28-Sep-04, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

Re: Why these news groups were created

Re: Why these news groups were created
