  Re: Justice for all.....

(...) Yes. And "to what end" as well, don't leave that one out. (...) And what do you propose to "fix it", if anything? (...) Two things: if money could buy charges in the ICC that easily, the court would be overwhelmed with legal actions already. (...) (21 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Powerpoint rots your brain

(...) <snip> From the site: " Gee, sometimes this new technology does have glitches, but we couldn't live without it, could we? Oh - is it ready? OK, here we go: " reminded me of Bill Maher, who was on Larry King the other night... He told this (...) (21 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Justice for all.....

(...) I think actually that was what sohmer did, at least it seemed that way to me early this morning but I was a bit bleary eyed... (...) Or in this case just use it! Tangentially I believe that Todd has that feature under development for here. (21 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Powerpoint rots your brain

(...) I laughed. That PPP was really funny--'new nations' bar graph--1.0... (21 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Justice for all.....

(...) Agree, but it's a good one. (...) Both parties were just childish--"It's my birthday so I wanted to post a hottie!! Why is everyone picking on me???" "Oh fine! If you don't want my hotties then someone else can do it!!!" This is where my 'put (...) (21 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Powerpoint rots your brain

What if Honest Abe had had Powerpoint available to him? (URL) some background (URL) a very controversial book (URL) if this is all old news to you all. It had me snickering (and I've been told I "give good foil" as we used to say in IBM)... (21 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Justice for all.....

(...) 1) That's not the best reason to dislike it, 2) I know what forum that's from... :-) so what do you think of habnut's recent action? Was ryu being babyish or justified given everything? (21 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Hmmmmmm. A pot bomb?????

This guy reminds me of the Iraqi propaganda guy - what was his name? (URL) (21 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Democracy.... Dubya Style

(...) Well that's all fine and dandy if he says "Look I'm gonna do some short term wrongs here, but I'm convinced in the long term it'll be alright" but I don't hear him saying that. "It's right to hold these suspected terrorist/conspirators without (...) (21 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: File under 'D'...

(...) Ahhhh but you're only looking at the point of impact as defining the arrow, but in fact its probably more physical things about the arrow that define it. And these are unlikely to change much no matter how they're influenced in their flight. (...) (21 years ago, 20-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: File under 'D'...

  Re: Democracy.... Dubya Style

(...) FINE!!! I admit it (again)-- the US and Israel aren't perfect!!! I am so tired of the comparisons to perfection! It's stupid to discuss! (...) My presence in this NG hangs by a thread as The Fates saw away. If not for the participation of a (...) (21 years ago, 19-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

  Re: File under 'D'...

(...) First of all, George W. Bush already has parents, so there's no need to adopt him. Secondly, the "nature vs. nurture" argument generally involves comparisons between individuals very similar to each other except regarding a specific range of (...)   Re: File under 'D'...

Just going thru this in my mind-- Nature is basically the 'building blocks' you are given at birth--hair colour, sex, height--and yes, nature changes your appearance as you row older, but, if I understand genetics properly, that change is pretty (...)   Re: File under 'D'...

(...) Sure, if we have parents raise a racoon, I favour nature as well... That said, you raise a racoon in a house with humans, that racoon would behave substantially different as an adult than a racoon raised by other racoons "out in the woods". So (...)   Re: Democracy.... Dubya Style

(...) Cites validate an idea inasmuch as the idea has some substance supporting it. Whether or not the idea is valid is up to the contrary side to prove. As I hear in other avenues, "saying something is wrong doesn't make it wrong." I once read a (...) (21 years ago, 19-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

  Re: File under 'D'...

(...) Since I'm still slummin in .debate for now, I figure I just can't ignore this little nugget. Care to discuss why you give the advantage to nurture? I mean, if I were to adopt a monkey for instance, I'd tend to say "advantage nature". Which (...) (21 years ago, 19-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Justice for all.....

(...) Does it really matter who or what money? The fact that it's possible, and the previously linked article demonstrates that it's already happening means that the ICC is being influenced by money. That needs fixing before the ICC will ever work. (...) (21 years ago, 19-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
