Re: Separation of Church and State

(...) This is part of the constant attempt by a certain segment of society to institutionalize its religion (i.e. inflict it upon everyone as the state-sanctioned theology). The prevalent religion at my son's school is Buddhism - the same law that (...) (21 years ago, 10-Jun-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Bush, a flawed evil genius?

(...) Well, you are right there Richie, US and Australia and GB are like the three stooges... BTW, according to dubya, the "coalition" was counting about 45 countries, most of them being anonymous. Now, why would any country want to remain anonymous (...) (21 years ago, 10-Jun-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

  Re: Melting a planet's core

(...) That sounds a lot like the premise of the recent movie The Core, but I saw a geophysicist on TV talking about it, and how he liked the fact that recent movies have been inspiring kids to get into science, but he said that in this case he (...)   Re: Separation of Church and State

(...) From the article, I'm not 100% sure, but I interpret the issue to have occurred on the grounds of two public schools. Am I correct? If so, then here's my answer: It's not liberalism at all; it is an objective and correct reading of the First (...) (21 years ago, 10-Jun-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Separation of Church and State

(...) I don't think so. Of course the real solution is to eliminate public schools. Private schools may do whatever they please in this aspect. (...) It depends. If it was in a position that didn't suggest the students should follow it, it would (...) (21 years ago, 10-Jun-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

It said that the field deflected harmful solar winds preventing them scouring away the atmosphere, but it lost it's field (...) (21 years ago, 10-Jun-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.space)

  Separation of Church and State

(URL) which granite tablets inscribed with the 10 commandments were removed from school property. Is this separation or liberalism run amok? I dunno. If, say, I was a teacher at this school, and I had a card with the 10 commandments on my desk, is (...) (21 years ago, 10-Jun-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Bush, a flawed evil genius?

(...) Indeed. Go Poland!(1) They sent special ops dudes at the very least (from all reports, some very effective special ops, at that... there's a story behind how those forces came into being). 1 - I'm 1/2 Polish, my dad came to the US in 1949 (...)   Re: Bush, a flawed evil genius?

(...) Just the U.S. and England!?!? Australia was on the ground there too! And fully (at a national government level, anyway) supportive. And yet you say "just the U.S. and England"! What next? The Three Stooges being just Larry and Curly? The Three (...) (21 years ago, 10-Jun-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)

  Moyers

Bill Moyers' "Presidential" Address (URL) "the unholy alliance between government and wealth" and the compassionate conservative spin that tries to make "the rape of America sound like a consensual date," Moyers charged that "rightwing wrecking (...)
