Well, there's no doubt the whole thing did not go as smoothly as I had
hoped, but I was pleased with how the model looked (while it was fully
intact). More importantly the client was pleased with it (pleased enough
that they agreed to buy it).

Obviously it was a shame that it ended up damaged, and that certainly
won't encourage any follow up business. A longer timeframe would have
helped, and likely I should have tried harder to MAKE more time for gluing.

Just goes to show that even after four years there things to be learned
in sculpting.

Folks, wanted to give everyone a heads up to this before the fact so
maybe someone out there can get some nifty screen captures for me...

On the NBC TODAY SHOW, Wednesday morning (not sure what time the actual
segment will air), there will be a segment with Conan O'Brien. It will
highlight his upcoming 10th anniversary show on the same network.

The Today show folks are supposed to be giving Conan a 'LEGO bust' of
himself (his head modelled out of LEGO bricks).

I built that bust for them late last week. I plan to make a webpage
about it after the segment airs. It was all extremely 'last minute'.

So, keep your eyes open and your video recorders warm... we'll see if
the LEGO creation actually gets some decent airtime (without getting
dropped and smashed).

After seeing the show, it appears that Conan didn't give a **** about your bust.
The bust being broken, it didn't help either.  Anyway, congrats on your
evergroing celebrity.

Might I say, I don't know if this project helped your celebrity in a good way
though.  I know you didn't have much time to do it, but the bust didn't look
that much like Conan and it broke during shipping, giving a live image of a
not-so-good bust which I'm not sure would help you.  I hope it will provide more
good than harm, because you trylu are amazing at what you do.
