Shipping LEGO from EU to USA —Lindsay Frederick Braun
Hi all, I'm now faced with the dilemma of shipping lots of LEGO from the EU to the US. I remember at some point in a discussion someone mentioned the shipping code that LEGO falls under, thus rendering it duty-free--but I can't find the article or (...)      (...) Mega-major thanks, Eric! That's exactly the exchange I was thinking of. Don't know why I couldn't find it, brainfart I suppose. best LFB (23 years ago, 3-May-01, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.market.shipping)

(...) Does the sender actually have to worry about this? I've had several LEGO shipments from the NL without any problems (well, one did get opened by customs but then the return label mentioned something about a biotech company so I can see why (...)      (...) Same here, but it couldn't hurt to have a hardcopy of the relevant regulation in the box and a reference to the ID number on the customs declaration form, just in case your package encouters an eager yet clueless customs officer, if any such (...)          Re: Shipping LEGO from EU to USA —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Duty is charged you at the point of pickup. You'd get a slip saying that you have a package waiting at the post office on which tariff or duty is owed, you'd go to the PO, and pay the duty. LEGO is duty-free, and I'm going to try darn hard to (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.market.shipping)

Re: Shipping LEGO from EU to USA —Susan Hoover
(...) Okay, I'm at home now and I have looked at my receipts. For one order, I got a bunch of copies of the same form showing a total of ~1500 FF for merchandise ("BRUT HT"), and that's all. Then there is a separate slip for the same shipment that (...) (23 years ago, 5-May-01, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.market.shipping)

Re: Shipping LEGO from EU to USA —Susan Hoover
(...) Probably so. I never bothered to check the item prices on the receipt vs. the ones on the order form. It's been a very long while, but I think they were all rolled in together on the order form, but separated out on the receipt. No complaints (...)
