Using a standard newsreader client for RTL enables filters and killfiles to be
used at ones discretion. When traffic on RTL was high (Pre-lugnet) I had many,
many filters turned on to take out all stuff like FA, FS, FT, Auction, Sale,
and other stuff I am not interested in.
So I understand why flog posts on RTL do not use such keywords. It is to
defeat killfiles--and it works.
My filters are now turned off (still available, though) but back in the
high-traffic days of RTL my filters would easily kill 75-100 posts per day
which is a great time saver for me. When auction and other keywords are not
used, the message gets through to me and I have to manually delete it or makr
as read, etc. If I were to flog auctions on RTL I would not use the common
market keywords either, just the Lego set name and number, etc in order to
outsmart killfiles.
