Re: Clearance price-matching (was Re: Last round of Target markdowns?) —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Last time I tried this they said the point of clearances was to clear. They'd let me return the items and get what I paid back (40% off) but stated... you will have to wait 24 hours to rebuy at the lower price. I did not want to chance having (...)         Re: Clearance price-matching (was Re: Last round of Target markdowns?) —Adam Hoekwater
(...) I don't understand this logic. 'We don't want it anymore, so it's on clearance. But you can return it for the 40% off price and we'll give you all the money back. Then we WILL sell it again, but at a MUCH LOWER price, but NOT TO YOU, because (...) (25 years ago, 20-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Clearance price-matching (was Re: Last round of Target markdowns?) —Doug Finney
(...) I think it makes total sense (though it's not how I *wish* it worked.) The crux of the matter is that the return policy is for people who want to *return* something, not get the best price for it. If their policy was refund the difference then (...)      (...) the (...) Okay, I'd better come clean about why I started this whole thing... There are 2 RIS 1.5's at my local Target store that I've been waiting on for quite some time. After reading yesterday's posts, I was sure that I would go pick them (...) (25 years ago, 20-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Clearance price-matching (was Re: Last round of Target markdowns?) —Tom Stangl
Hehe, GOOD LUCK. The Target I wiped out of 4561s this morning has had them for $78 for WEEKS while all of the other Targets dropped them. I called yesterday, mentioning that the Target not 10 miles from them had just dropped their price to $32.44, (...) (25 years ago, 20-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Clearance price-matching (was Re: Last round of Target markdowns?) —Mark Cornell
Woo Hoo! I just received an e-mail from my parents that they picked up two 4561s at Target for $32.44 each (to add to the two I paid $78 for when I was out there at Christmas). They will check one more Target today for more. My local Target hasn't (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Clearance price-matching (was Re: Last round of Target markdowns?) —Doug Finney
(...) Believe me, I know exactly how you feel. The RIS and DDK at my local store are still full price! Last year they finally dropped the price on the big Adventurer set a few weeks after everything else was gone so I'd best keep checking back. (...)          Re: Clearance price-matching (was Re: Last round of Target markdowns?) —Susan Hoover
(...) 'Fess up, Doug. Did you take all 10 of the 4561's that were at $78 for weeks and weeks and weeks at the Galleria Target, the morning they went to $32.44? BTW, Don't bother going to the Target in Baytown. I obliged the inventory crew by helping (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Clearance price-matching (was Re: Last round of Target markdowns?) —John Neal
(...) Once again, Lar, you prove to be all wise. That is a great plan which I wish I had employed. My Target had at least 12 4561s sitting around yesterday for $77.xx. After calling today and finding out that they marked them down to $32.44, I went (...) (25 years ago, 20-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Clearance price-matching (was Re: Last round of Target markdowns?) —Tom Stangl
You have to call FIRST THING in the morning. I just finished a 100 mile trip to go get some 4561s at $32.44 each - I called the second they opened, and hoped they'd still be there when I got there (luckily, they DID have some. Not as many as I (...) (25 years ago, 20-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Clearance price-matching (was Re: Last round of Target markdowns?) —Jeffrey Baldwin
Wow 4561s for $32.44. I live in the Los Angles area and when they went on sale here I went to 4 Target stores and ended up with only for sets at $77.00. So how many did you get. ;) (...) to go get (...) still be (...) wanted, but (...) would be (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)
