This sucks.
So today I was going to finally order the windows I needed for a building I’ve
been building for a while now and I ran into a couple snags.

1.) The lego.com and it’s shop.lego.com sites are not loading properly. I had to
refresh and reload the pages countless times. Obviously this has something to do
with the site it’s self because I’ve never had a problem before. it took me over
an hour!

2.) Shipping is nuts! SaH wanted 12.95 to ship something that weighs less than 1
pound. Assigning shipping weights to products would easily fix this but I think
TLC would rather make a little extra off the top it seems.

3.) So since when has shop at home charged for sales tax? Not even ebay does
that. When legislation passes requiring it fine, but until then stop raiding my
pocket.

Here’s a little run down of what I was ordering

15 packs of  1x2x2 windows                    $101.85 or  .2716 per part
shipping                                      $ 12 .95
sales tax                                    $ 10.33
total $125.13   or   .33368 per part

So between shipping and tax the price jumped right around .06 per part. This is
ridiculous!  Needless to say after screwing with the site for an hour trying to
get it to load I said screw it and went to bricklink.  I think from now on I’ll
be going there whether it cost more or not. At least I know I’ll be treated
fairly.

Ondrew: Lego switched to a fixed percentage for shipping a few months ago. As for sales tax, they only seem to charge it for states with actual Lego stores. Ken (18 years ago, 7-Aug-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) What do you have to complain about? If I place the same order on S@H I get a final price of 1182.25 SEK ($165.379 according to (URL) the fact that the average US person has 30-70% more money to spend than a Swede doesn't make the equation (...) (...) By an amazing coincidence, I just got an email from LEGO.com this morning that says that they have free shipping on orders of $75 or more, and when I go to (URL) they have the free shipping promotion right on the main page. That would take (...) (18 years ago, 8-Aug-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)
