Hi all,

I'm thinking about replacing the stuff I take whenever the option comes
to me and I'm interested in thoughts from y'all.  I am taking it for
granted that I will replace with more/better (by a little) than what I
take, but some things are hard to judge.

An easy hypothetical:  I take out five blue 2x4s and replace it with the
Fabuland taxi garage.  I've replaced five common elements with one
wildly uncommon one.  Is that fair?
What if those 2x4s were silver?  Does it matter that I decreased the
_number_ of elements?

Is it the number, the 'value', or the bulk what we're trying to grow?

If I wanted to put in this Fabuland taxi garage, how much could I take
out in exchange?

To some extent, each box can have different rules, but I'm betting there
will be some predominantly common rules too.  Is this one?

On another note, ten people have posted to lmj thusfar.  Are there a
bunch of others of you out there who will want to play too, but just
haven't posted?

Sincerely,

Christopher L. Weeks

(...) Ultimately I think all 3 should grow but each individual's focus should be increasing value, diversity and uniqueness of the pieces in each box. Even if the piece count or bulk decreases in one swap, they should go up over time. A Fabuland (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jul-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

(...) Definitely include me as a "want to play"-er, I just ahven't had anything more valuable to add to the discussion than this lousy "me too" post. Definitely lurking this group with great enthusiasm, though. Chad (25 years ago, 21-Jul-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)
