Show cat available for trade...no, really —Christopher L. Weeks
Hi all, I'm hoping to be (I didn't do a thorough search) the first person to offer to trade livestock for LEGO. I have available a blue-eyed white hearing Turkish Angora kitten (I might have two, we're trying to get the consulate to tell us what's (...)      (...) Two questions: 1. How do you plan to do delivery? You or the buyer travels? Will the cat do OK in a cat carrier for the duration of the trip? 2. Do you think he'll taste better grilled or barbecued? ++Lar (24 years ago, 26-May-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Show cat available for trade...no, really —Christopher L. Weeks
(...) OK (...) Depends. We generally 'give' a 200 mile drive and sometimes work something more out...our other branch (my Dad's) is in St. Louis, so delivery from there can happen too. Cats ship well. A common mistake is to tranq them for airplane (...) (24 years ago, 26-May-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) is (...) Blech! Longhair! Any Russian Blues? Abbies? (...) Awright! I hate those poor show cats being kept in tiny cages. Bruce (looking at his bird in a large cage....oops) (24 years ago, 26-May-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Show cat available for trade...no, really —Bruce Schlickbernd
(...) Well, okay, they really weren't too bad, and any breed that disqualifies the cobby body can't be all bad! :-) But the two cats, dog and bird that I have are enough! Bruce (24 years ago, 26-May-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Show cat available for trade...no, really —Christopher L. Weeks
(...) Actually, we breed TAs and Abbies both. But I have no abbies on offer. (...) Yeah, TAs are the best of the long hairs, not that I'm biassed or anything. But they don't have an undercoat like Persians so their hair is silky and drapey instead (...) (24 years ago, 26-May-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Show cat available for trade...no, really —Bruce Schlickbernd
(...) Bummer. I like Abbies. (...) I'm glad I actually looked rather than just continue to presume they were simply a stock variation of Persian - rather nice, in fact. I'm just not a Persian fan, even if you disguise it as a Himalayan. (...) (...) (24 years ago, 26-May-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Show cat available for trade...no, really —Selçuk Göre
(...) You are right about that. Actually Turkish Angora is a local breed which completely natural from the beginning (it had a long history) whereas, Persians are the products of selective breeding (Turkish Angora and Afghan Long Hair, AFAIK). I (...) (24 years ago, 7-Apr-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Show cat available for trade...no, really —Nick Goetz
Unless this somehow is going to turn into Turkish Angora being worth 15,000 2x4 bricks or a Long Hair that knocks a train from a Technic bridge I think we have reached the point where this is off topic. -Nick (a guy who really doesn't care for cats) (...)          Re: Show cat available for trade...no, really —Selçuk Göre
(...) Hey c'mon, it was not an auction post!.:-) Selçuk PS. why someone reads postings with headers clearly say "cat" while not caring cats at the same time should have a good background story. (24 years ago, 8-Apr-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Show cat available for trade...no, really —Nick Goetz
The story, while not your business, is that I read all marketplace posts. If the cat is being trading for parts then fine. But I feel it is very inconsiderate, and probably against some usage policy (I am not motivated enough to go look for it), for (...) (24 years ago, 31-May-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Second, I agree. off-topic.fun is a much better location for the responses (all of them) that have nothing to do with trading. Thanks. Sorry for perpetuating that (...) After 50 years of Barn Party, there aren't any farmers even remotely close to Houghton that are willing to lend chickens to the brothers any more. So if your chickens (...)
