Brickbay Buyer Problem -- Help!! —John York
Hi guys and gals, I just wondered your thoughts on this situation. I recently sold an item on brickbay that I described as MISB. I bought the set off of ebay or yahoo a couple months back. It was described the same way. I sent the set to the buyer (...) (23 years ago, 17-Apr-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) If you can see the pieces in their still sealed baggies, then I guess the box must have been opened. So MISB is close, but not totally accurate. At this point I would try to make up for an honest mistake, even if I lost money on the deal. (23 years ago, 17-Apr-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) If it was a box with a flip lid he could have seen the pieces inside. -Rich ---...--- Looking for discontinued sets MISB? (URL) sets available (23 years ago, 17-Apr-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Brickbay Buyer Problem -- Help!! —John York
I suppose I should just list everything as "SEALED ALTHOUGH SOMEONE MAY HAVE OPENED IT BUT I CAN'T TELL" or SASMHOIBICT...that's about how I feel right now! :) (...) (23 years ago, 17-Apr-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) I feel your pain! Worrying about this problem (how to disclaim properly) caused me to craft these set of rules/definitions, which I and others have used for some 2 ++ years now, you are welcome to reference them in your listings as well if you (...)         Re: Brickbay Buyer Problem -- Help!! —Brett A. Antaya
John, You have to understand that when listing a set in MISB you have the power to command and expect top dollar for the set in question which makes it a factor worth looking into. The last thing you want is for a serious collector to buy your set (...) (23 years ago, 17-Apr-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Brickbay Buyer Problem -- Help!! —John York
Thanks for all your help. This has at least made me feel better. I know the set was sealed when I sent it, so it's frusterating when the buyer tries to manipulate you. I've offered him several options and he just keeps choosing to complain about (...) (23 years ago, 17-Apr-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) John, First off I would like to say that I'm sorry to hear about your problems but I'm kind of glad you brought the topic up for discussion (if it's been discussed before, I would guess it has, I didn't know about it). I can somewhat (...) (23 years ago, 17-Apr-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Just my two cents here... I have just completed a trade for sets from John. I plan to visit Brickbay and post very positive feedback. My package was received, but sets were slightly buckled by the POST OFFICE. But it matter not since I tore into (...) (23 years ago, 17-Apr-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) Never had it happen to me, but IMHO the best you can do is take it back, give the guy a refund and pay for shipping. I know it's a bitch, you loose some (perhaps a lot) of $$$ but nobody can afterwards say anything that might work against you. (...) (23 years ago, 17-Apr-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Brickbay Buyer Problem -- Help!! —Brendan Coughlin
(...) Hi John! I think you were very fair in offering to buy the set back. In fact, that's what I would do too. You may not get the profit that you made from the set in the first place but someone else WILL buy this set regardless if the box is open (...)         Re: Brickbay Buyer Problem -- Help!! —John Radtke
(...) So far in this thread I didn't see anyone mention what MISB stands for. Is this a case of just mistaking an acronym?. I think it bears mentioning that it is Mint In Sealed Box. For my two cents there is no misunderstanding what sealed box (...) (23 years ago, 17-Apr-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Hi John, Thanks for the Vision Command, wife didn't kill me yet =) About the opened set, did he say "the seal has been broken" or " it looks like this has been opened". I've gotten older sets that were MISB, and the factory seal on the box seemes to (...) (23 years ago, 18-Apr-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Brickbay Buyer Problem -- Thanks for your Help!! —John York
Hi Tom! Glad your still alive...bummer I won't inherit the Vision Command I sold ya! :) The buyer said it looked like it was opened, but the seal was still intact. I ended up giving him a decent refund to keep him happy, so I guess this issue is (...) (23 years ago, 18-Apr-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
