Re: [FA] on eBay - Blue hopper.

Larry Pieniazek <lar@voyager.net> wrote in message news:37F159CE.12E661...ger.net... (...) That instantly reminded me of a line from the James Bond film "You only live twice".   Re: [FA] on eBay - Blue hopper.

(...) hehe. That slipped out. Honest. That listing is a clone of the SC one (well, actually a clone of an early version.) If ebay complains I will of course relist without it. I don't THINK it's against the TOS, is it? I realised I had slipped right (...) (25 years ago, 29-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: [FA] on eBay - Blue hopper.

At least you put your money where your mouth is regarding the item description. You clearly state the orginal price of the set and do not make it out to be anything it is not. I wonder about advertising for non-Ebay auctions but have no comment (...) (25 years ago, 29-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

[FA] on eBay - Blue hopper.

Yes, that's right. I am holding my nose. Consider this an experiment since I also listed some on SC. (URL) I do in the name of science! :-) (25 years ago, 29-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

  JDH/UK Auction 3 - Trains

The two main sets consist of the train, track and engine driver only, i.e. no passengers, loads, platforms, road vehicles, etc. The speed regulators are available at no extra cost if required (240VAC @ 50/60Hz), but they will obviously increase (...)   Re: What is up with this?

(...) But those 12 tubs don't do me any good unless I'm willing to pay you enough to encourage you to go get them and send them to me (obviously I don't actually need those 12 tubs or there would be no blue tubs in the stores I shop at).   Re: What is up with this?

(...) Hmmm. One opposing datapoint: the local WM had 12 blue tubs on the shelf this morning. Four weeks ago they had zero. There must be some still in the pipeline somewhere. The 12+ purple buckets I found a month back are actually a better deal (...) (25 years ago, 28-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: What is up with this?

(...) The blue tubs are getting harder to find. I think only a few of the local stores have any left. If they aren't available, the $30ish that the price is now at is not absolutely unreasonable (compatable to the Classic buckets, but you don't get (...)   Re: What is up with this?

(...) I'll tell ya I don't get it either. I have even considered quiting my job and selling LEGO on ebay (Well not really but it would be nice).   Re: What is up with this?

What they lack in imagination, they make up for in guts. Probably the only ones who bid that will be the people who never see those in their local stores. Makes you almost want to go out and get like 10-20 of them and auction them off. At least they (...) (25 years ago, 28-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: What is up with this?

(...) And they didn't even spell "Wisconsin" correctly for their 'location'... Kinda like the McDonald's "drive through" set with the opening bid set at $24.95... That's crazy talk! JG (25 years ago, 28-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

  What is up with this?

(URL) blue bucket for $31? Are these not still available at just about any stor for $19.99? Perhaps I am going about this all wrong.
