  Re: [DISC] Shortcircuit eBay?

Interesting. Except I'd rather not void an otherwise valid-bid. And I don't care if newcomer enters late in the game. They just have to be able to hold the bid for the X minutes required before I close the auction. Basically, I think the auction (...) (25 years ago, 26-Apr-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: [DISC] Shortcircuit eBay?

(...) Awesome idea! I think this is better than closing the auction unexpectedly. I did not know eBay allowed that. Might get negative feedback from your sniper, but you can very well reply to it clarifying that you did what you said you would. (25 years ago, 26-Apr-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: [DISC] Shortcircuit eBay?

Instead, put a note in the auction text that you reserve the right not to honor any bid placed in the last X minutes unless placed by a previous bidder in the same auction. You might also offer the established high-bidder - the person who was in the (...) (25 years ago, 26-Apr-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

lugnet.market.methodology? (was Re: Methodology: Reserve, Controlled Reserve, or No Reserve?)

(...) There is or recently was a discussion of a lugnet.market.discus...ique/.etc. and then I saw this note with methodology in the subject. I think that .methodology would be perfect for encapsulating the meaning and goals discussed, and also for (...) (25 years ago, 26-Apr-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: Proxy ratcheting: How do auction systems work?

(...) Saw Mike and Larry's posts, and it reminded me to respond to this point: It's actually the buyers who pay the bills. No buyers means no income. Steve (25 years ago, 26-Apr-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Auction Update: Model Team/Technics/Town

(...) I had some email problems last week which stopped me posting updates. That also means I'm not sure if I've actually received all the bids - if anyone's sent me any that aren't here, then just send them to me again. Because of this, I will now (...)   Lar's hoppers

(...) No, it was your febrile dream that I was going to drain my supply of orange bricks to build it in orange for you. If you know a source of orange 1x2 technic bricks MAYBE I'd consider it, but otherwise fuggedaboutit. (said in best Woburn MA (...)   Re: The Gary Louie Memorial Auction

I have *seen* these hoppers in the donator's car so I'm pretty sure they are a go:-) Personally, I'll bid on Lar's version [1] [1] I think it was the claim that Lar's hopper empties out in under 10 seconds that sold me. If, however, I find that it (...) (25 years ago, 25-Apr-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: Proxy ratcheting: How do auction systems work?

No, I just talking about the case where someone comes in after the bids have settled for a while, and bids on them at G2. You outbid them, they wait for G2, and bid again. You outbid them, they wait for G2 (lather, rinse, repeat)..... Get the idea? (...) (25 years ago, 25-Apr-99, to lugnet.market.auction)
