Well, I think we should follow one of two courses of action:
1) We should discuss online what we want to be forming: what our purpose is,
who's going to be involved, what degree of formality there will be, what
geography we hope to include, etc. And then we should meet, and further talk
about that kind of stuff as well as LEGO.
or
2) We should meet and talk about LEGO and organizational details. And we
should further refine that kind of stuff online.
Either way, at that point I think we'll officially have a club going.

I think that would be in order. I'll vollunteer my house if the crowd will be
manageable. (Size, I mean, not attitude :-) I'm in zip code 08853, so check
one of the online map sites to see how far that is from your house to see if
that will work for you. I think it's pretty central for the area that we're
discussing (<1.5 hours to the Philly airport, <1.5 to Manhattan, 1 hr to Island
Beach State Park, etc.) I'm also game for going somewhere else. What kinds of
places are good for providing a meeting space? Below, you suggest a library,
maybe I'll make some calls tomorrow.
Actually, I know a guy who owns a strip mall with a couple of vacant spaces.
Maybe one of those would be affordable for an evening.

Goals?
Basically, I just had fun in DC getting together with other LEGOheads, playing
with LEGO, seeing what others did with the brick, playing the pirate wars game,
etc. What does anyone want to do in such a group? I would like to trade. I
would like to see what y'all build. I would like to organize fests of various
sizes that draw others, like the brickfest. What else can one do with an org
like this?

One of the first things I was asked upon arriving in DC was what theme I mostly
worked in. I explained that my favorite theme is clearance. I really like
everything. I like doing complicated Technic models, but almost never build my
own stuff. And I don't have any experience with trains, but the setups that
I've seen were pretty neat.

I would like to do public events, but I don't think that our first couple
meetings should be. We'll have to work organizational stuff out if we're
building something formal.

| Hi all, Almost missed this thread, been spending too much time outside these days, not at the computer. I'm also central NJ, around exit 8 on the Turnpike. (...) I favor this method.
