OK, it seems like there is enough interest to carry on with this so let's. • Are
we all thinking a weekend day?  Is Saturday better than Sunday?  Should it be
for adults only?  How long a meeting?  What times?

In general a I would guess Saturday would be better because it gives the option
of meeting in the evening.  Though having said that, I only have a few weekends
that I don't already have plans for.  I could meet on a weekday after work,
I'll just leave a little early.  I think 2-4 hours would be a good range to
plan on, if we're having fun it's very easy to run later then we planned.

What age kids?  I have son who is almost six.  If there are a few folks with
kids of compatible ages, we could do a double LEGO based get-together (one for
kids and one for adults), but again, this might better be done at a later
meeting.

I have two daughters, ages 9 and 6, and one son, age 2.  They all like Legos
though my son mostly just likes to make a mess with them.

After suggesting that, I also thought of MetroLUG because I think of NJ • (though
I know it's not really like this) as being divided between the metro NYC and
metro Philly areas, with just a touch of (pretend) rural areas around the
fringe.

Also suggested have been:

TriLUG for the tri-state area (NY, NJ, PA, I'd say)

UMALUG for upper mid-Atlantic LUG

DVLUG - Delaware Valley LUG

MPHLUG - Metro Philadelphia LUG

GPHLUG - Greater Philadelphia LUG

I would personally prefer to not use the last two because it limits the feel • of
the name.  NYC people might not feel as free to participate and I'd like to
appeal to as broad an audience as possible.  Otherwise, I think they are all
acceptable names.  I'd still like to give some thought to names that are not
dependent on the LUG acronym.

What about TAMALE - The Awesome Mid-Atlantic Lego Enthusiasts :)

Anything else to consider?

What should we bring, maybe a favorite creation or completed set?

Regards,
Matt

Speaking for myself, Saturday afternoon or evening would be easier for me to attend. Not having to worry about getting up early for work makes for more enjoyment. Even if the event didn't run too late, there is still the drive home to consider. I (...) (24 years ago, 28-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.us.nj, lugnet.loc.us.ny, lugnet.loc.us.pa)
