Hello potential New LUG members... :-)
Ok.  It seems that there are several people who have replied to this thread
that they would be interested in a local LUG.  So.  What is the next step?  Do
we need to find a place where we can meet?  Are there other things that we • need
to discuss first?  Anybody got some input?

We had our third meeting in Sydney, Australia on June 4.
If you are less than half a dozen use someones house, apartment etc.
Rotate the meetings, if one person does not have to travel, it means they
can show off their large and hard to transport stuff.
In a public building, snacks are not that easy to access, so someone's
place can provide drinks, coffee etc.

Maybe we should give each other some idea of where our interests lie.  I am
interested mostly in Castle, and occasionally in Technics and Mindstorms.  I
enjoy seeing all type of MOCs though, and who knows, given the proper
initiation, I could expand my horizons. :-)

List your interests, AFOL's can add new themes to their own easily.
Richard Parsons pirate ships got me into pirates.
Seeing trains as well got me interested.
We had some Technic cars at the last one, which I'm now thinking about.

One thought that I had was maybe talking to a local public library.  Building
with Lego bricks is certainly an educational experience.  I would expect that
either someone would need to work there, or we would need to be more organized
to actually get space set aside for us, plus it would mean being extremely
public.  There are both positives and negatives on that issue.  Anyone else
have any ideas?

Get everyone to take along fave sets, old catalogues, things to trade.
Think about BrikWars if you have enough castle or space people.
I'm sure you will have enough to discuss.
Good luck.
