Hmm...I had somehow been of the understanding that NELUG has sopped up a lot
of the enthusiasts from our region...but I could be wrong.

By no means have we "sopped" up enthusiasts from the NY/NJ metro region.  We
have had a few people join from the area but I think the farthest away anyone
has come from to get to a NELUG meeting is Northern CT.  We have had a few
special meetings when people come in from out of town but thats different.

The map of their region excludes New York and beyond.  I don't know if New
Yorkers participate anyway, but I'd gotten the idea that they did not.  And
anyway, there's nothing that says they can't be members of both and Jersey's
much closer than Boston if they're in the city.

I would think it would be wonderful to have a NY/NJ/PHI LUG.  That would bridge
the gap between NELUG and WAMALUG and that could create a good chance for some
inter-LUG meetings other than Brickfest.  We could meet somewhere half way for
a joint meeting or something.

Also my guess is that you would pick up some members from southwestern CT as
well.  There is no hard and fast rule on geography so I would say go ahead and
do it!!!

NELUG started with about 5 members about 10 months ago and have had meetings as
big as 17-18 members and there are now 100 people on our mailing list.

Good Luck,
