In lugnet.trains, Tamyra Teed writes: [snip] (...)   Re: Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club (GMLTC)

COOL!! When do we get to see some close ups of some of those buildings?? I really want to see what I think is the grey "train station?" and my color might be a little off though it looks a little purple? (might be pink, looks kinda like the slides (...)   Re: Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club (GMLTC)

That is very impressive! Is the white bridge is curved to match the track? Is that a gray truss bridge to the right? And what is the red truss work supporting? The 6 slides really make a cool carnival ride! SteveB (...) (26 years ago, 13-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Re: Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club (GMLTC)

As promised, here is a teaser pic: (URL) entire layout is built from Lego. All those red sides with black streaks are Lego! Only the supporting tables (the boards and draping) are not. Conan Callopy (much of the bricks are his and his uncle's) is in (...) (26 years ago, 13-Mar-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Formation of local train club

Well, I met with the local guys who have been showing Lego trains at the GATS (on and off since '85 I learned!) and let me tell you! But first off, I should say that, originally, I wanted to be in a group such as the PNLTC and so I started (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: UMLTC

It's strange how hard it is to get a bunch of 'local' LEGO train enthusiasts together (where 'local' means within 25-50 miles of where you live). I've been trying to get some interest in the SF Bay Area, with little success. I've even used a (...) (26 years ago, 25-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Clubs, structure, long distance orgs (Was Re: UMLTC

John and I had a great conversation on Friday and one of the topics that came up is what exactly we would want out of a club. We agreed that too much structure can be detrimental as people get sucked up into the structure aspects instead of the (...)
