Public Thank You for our NMRA show supporters

I know I can't name everyone, but I'm going to shoot for 80%, and count on others to chip in with the rest of the names. Module Builders (OK, so we didn't get to use them this time, but a bunch of folks tried to help make it happen, and that's (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Booth monitors and crowd control

X-10 power control. We had a wireless remote control to turn two outlets on or off. These controlled the track controllers for both loops (ckt. 1) and the power to the rotating doggie atop the Spamcake Diner (ckt. 2). Oddly, the RF remote was (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Talking Points

These comments were heard from comments from adult train enthusiasts who visited our display, and might make for good talking point, or maybe be incorporated into another handout flyer... There has got to be some more whimsey in this hobby. (We (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  your schedule?

I have your handout acrylic thingy, your bag...and a gift from the NMRA folks for your help with the handouts. When/how would you like to hand these off? -Z- -- Zonker Harris (zonkerh@corp.webtv.net, zonker@gnac.com) GNAC Broadband Network (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: NMRA show (the first of many?)

(...) No such thing - I consistently moved sets to the inside edges of the modules, and if the kids couldn't climb on each other, they'd have their parents lift them up to get it. I have no problem with kids PLAYING with the Lego. It's the (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: NMRA show (the first of many?)

John Gerlach says: (...) <snip> (...) I have to agree with this. I don't like the idea of plexiglas. After all, they are LEGO toys! I think if you have something that you don't want the kids to play with, keep it out of reach. I for one love to be (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  NMRA 2000 Successful

Well, the show was both stressful and successful. Many positive comments and it looks like we have a good amount of momentum to go on. We even came across a Lego Train Fan who knew nothing of Lugnet or BayLUG, but had been building Lego Train MOCs (...)   Re: NMRA show (the first of many?)

(...) When the GMLTC displayed at the 1999 NMRA show in St. Paul, we received nothing but support from the "real" model railroaders. They would ask questions, make comments, point out mistakes (yea, we're not perfect!), and seemed genuinely (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: NMRA show (the first of many?)

While I could only be there on Thursday, before the show actually opened, I knew just from the comments I heard from other contributors that it was going to be a hit. I am available to help on the Hayward show and can commit (or be committed). I (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Re: BayLUG/BayLTC next meeting? (discussion)

I think a september meeting is a fine idea, as well as something in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am available the weekends of the 9th & 10th and the 23rd and 24th. If these dont work out for others, I can change my schedule as long as we do (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)
