I am somewhat confused now. Here is my current understanding: Sunday, May 12th from 1-5 pm we have a booking in the Fukaya room in Fremont. Is this correct? Bravo, Mike! {:^D You beat me to the punch-- I had intended to build an 8 wide version of Lar's Hopper as well! It looks great! Don't you think the proportions look a lot better? I am assuming John Neal is completely interested in this: I have just finished my first 8 wide train car. It is an adaption of Larry P's custom hopper. I would opt for Fremont over Albany, as it is an hour closer to me each way and I am already driving 3 1/2 - 4 hrs. each way as it is. Actually, a magnet and reed switch would be more reliable than a touch sensor. Or maybe use an optical sensor. I'm not into train cars and such, but I'd be happy to contribute some motorized RCX-controlled scenery. The RCX remote control makes it (...) (25 years ago, 12-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)
