  RE: Floor plan

Hi, Great input! Here's some misc. comments and ramblings: In defense of Saturday's arrangement, I think we were interested in getting set up, and not spending a lot of time moving the ~80? chairs in the room and then having to re-set up the (...) (25 years ago, 26-May-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: First BayLUG meeting deemed "a success"!

A very big thanks to Zonker, Russell, Fred, Mark, and anyone else involved in the organizing of this event! It was much more ambitious than I'd been imagining, and I was quite happy to see how well it went. One conclusion that had been discussed (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Floor plan

Hi y’all! I was thinking that a basic floorplan of the next meeting posted on a page/section of the baylug site might not be such a bad idea. Here’s why. 1. Given the number of members showing up and knowing what they’ll bring, it would help with (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Contest du jour: Best sets <10 bricks in shortest dimension

Hi, Contest du jour: I have an office "air-quarium" (glass enclosed volume to put stuff in) that is 10 bricks deep, and about 65-70 bricks long, by about a foot high. What are your favorite, or "Best" sets to fit this space to display? Also, please (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: The first BAYLUG meet

Keep those suggestions coming! I'll make a collection and then summarize it to the list. As for trains, I have a few ideas there as well; PNLTC uses a 9-V transformer (power pack) instead of 12-V, which keeps little hands from achieving break-part (...)   The first BAYLUG meet

And here are some of my lengthy views to add to the others: Good location. It was central enough for me and easy to get to. I like the access to the parking lot without having to wind through the whole library and get stuck in a back room somewhere. (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: First BayLUG meeting deemed "a success"!

(...) It was a very nice place. Plenty of space. Its a good idea to separate interective from noninteractive. It was nice that we were well received. (...)   Re: First BayLUG meeting deemed "a success"!

(...) This was a very good sized room especially if we want to separate club and visitor activities - for now, not too small, not too big. I'm glad we were favorably received. We could line up the tables so half the room is for visitor interaction (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

SW @ Redwood City, CA Kmart

Hi All, Somewhat picked over, 1 gungan sub, 1 infiltrator, 2 A's pod racers, many droid fighters & swamps left. No "old" SW sets. Said they'd call me when more come in. Infiltrator is over with poor regular stock. Sale runs through Saturday. I (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

First BayLUG meeting deemed "a success"!

We met at the Fremont main public library in the Fukaya Room. This room was large, seats 96 folks, and we had (14) 2.5'x 5' tables set out for our use, whith lots of chairs. We had a bunch of power outlets on the walls, as well as in pockets in the (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  BAYLUG LEGOFest Q's and Comments

Hi Zonker and everyone, Do you know Ray's email? He left before I could get a grab bag. Do you know if he has any left? I'd like to see if he has any yellow parrots left. ;-) How was dinner. etc., on Sat. evening? I think the meet was a huge (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Re: Grab bags at LEGOFest

(...) It turns out Tom Stangl won't be coming, so I'll stay away from buying his so that you can. He wanted two bags.   Re: Grab bags at LEGOFest

It turns out I'll be able to make it, and bring the kids also. Could set aside two bags for us? I know it's late, so maybe we'll have to take our chances. I'll be bringing my "low-riding" chrome and red Y-wing. -gyug (...) (25 years ago, 22-May-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: Star Wars EP1 models spotted @ 7-11!

(...) Well, I wouldn't necessarily rush out for these. This is $1 over MSRP, and furthermore K-Mart is having a 15%-off sale on Star Wars LEGO beginning Sunday! But thanks for the shopping update!   Grab bags at LEGOFest

Well, the grab bags have come together, and I hope people like them! This time the $10 bag features about $18-worth of LEGO -- about a 45% discount off MSRP!   Won't be making it to the gathering...

Car troubles again, I need to spend tomorrow fixing it. I had said I wanted 2 grab bags - if there are some left, I STILL want 2, but if people there want them, sell them, don't get stuck with them until I can afford to come pick them up. (25 years ago, 21-May-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Star Wars EP1 models spotted @ 7-11!

I don't often stop by, and I've *never* seen LEGO kits in a 7-11 store...before today. In Palo Alto, on Lytton Ave, east of Bryant (maybe at Waverly?), I found 6 Lightsaber Duels, going for $6.99 each this morning. There don't seem to be many new (...)
