  Insectoids anyone?

Insectoids 'Celestial Stinger' set 6969 for a tenner anyone? (Boxes have some scuffing as you would expect, but are otherwise new (Safeways)) LMK... Phil in Yorkshire. (25 years ago, 18-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Insectoids anyone?

No thanks Phil. BTW: Was a consensus ever reached about posting sale auction postings in this group? I remember there was a bit of debate about this last year - but it did not reach any conclusion. I posted a sale(ish) message last week ((URL) so (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Insectoids anyone?

(...) IMO, I don't mind seeing people offering the occasional thing for sale. If they are cross-posting to buy-sell-trade or somesuch then that's a little bit different. Offering to be a hub for local deals is one of the best things about this (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Insectoids anyone?

May I clarify my recent post: it is neither a personal sale, nor an auction - it's a combination of a 'shopping report' and an offer to go down to Safeways and fetch one. I was there at dinner time today and noticed the price reduced stock. I don't (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Insectoids anyone?

It sounds like it might just be that store, where in Yorkshire is this store Phil? I'm in Bradford, is it anywhere near? Rob. (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Insectoids anyone?

Not too near, no. The Safeway I am talking about is the Ingleby Barwick branch (one of the newer, larger ones) near Middlesbrough. There were about 6 or so sets left this dinner time. Strictly speaking, I think the shop's actually over the border in (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Insectoids anyone?

(...) Auction/Sale announcements are OK then? Even if they are, I don't want to see "30 Minutes Until My Auction Ends" type posts. I suppose we could give it a try it, and then review it in a few weeks if things get out of hand. I must admit I'm a (...) (25 years ago, 19-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

(...) My sentiments entirely - a good demarcation. Chris (25 years ago, 19-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Insectoids anyone?

(...) Although a single, short pointer to announcements in .auction & .b-s-t is probably ok, for stuff targeted at the UK. ie. the prices had better be in pounds :-) (25 years ago, 19-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Insectoids anyone?

(...) Sounds good to me! One possible exception might be people listing the things that they'll be selling at an impending 'fest? Richard (25 years ago, 19-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Insectoids anyone?

(...) I'm not sure about that - generally those who want to buy things from auctions or profit-sales will frequent those groups anyway? Richard (25 years ago, 19-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Insectoids anyone?

(...) Well that practically rules out auctions here full stop(.). As for selling Lego for profit, how is "profit" defined?{1} The cost of the item to the seller? The cost of the item plus other costs (eg/ie postage, travel, time etc)? Even if (...) (25 years ago, 19-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

(...) Sounds good to me too, FWIW. Also, in a similar vein to the start of this thread, Toy Stack has a single Exploriens 'nasty open flying thing' (6856) [1] for 6.99, which I'll pick up for someone if it's still there when I get your mail. They (...) (25 years ago, 19-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Insectoids anyone?

(...) This is sold now. It was not an auction, or at least I did not intend it to be. I actually sold it for a little (not a lot) less than the buyer offered. I accepted the first offer I got. Scott A (25 years ago, 20-Jan-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)
