Help with Old Danish Printed Bricks —Clark Stephens
Hello, I recently acquired a few Danish printed bricks, but can't figure out what they mean. Here's a list, along with picture links: Posterijen - (I think this means literally Post Office?) (URL) - (I think this means Garage, what is the literal (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.nl)

Okay, I won't get offended by the mix-up of dutch and danish..... You're lucky to have posted here, 'cause those prints are dutch, not danish. Posterijen. Post Office would be Postkantoor. Posterijen means Postal Services. Automatiek. Literally (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.nl)

Duq, Saskia, Sorry about the mix-up, no offense intended. I'm glad I posted to the correct country. This gallery has been a learning experience for me. Thanks for the info. I would love to find more Dutch bricks, but they are fairly scarce in (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.nl)

Duq, Thanks for the additions. I've added them to my site. The coloured bricks make a nice comparision with the earlier clear painted bricks in the gallery, which came from a similar/earlier light brick set. I've also had several people ask me where (...)    Well, it's Dutch! (...) You're right, well it's more of a company name. "Post Office" would be "Post Kantoor". (...) I have no idea what the translation of "automatiek is", but it means a place where you can buy snacks (like a snackbar). It's the (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.nl)

Re: Help with Old Danish Printed Bricks —Bruce Hietbrink
(...) We'd call those "vending machines" and the place would be an "automat" (though you don't hear that name often). Bruce (22 years ago, 24-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.nl)

(...) That's the word I was looking for! :-) Saskia and the place would be an "automat" (...) (22 years ago, 25-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.nl)
