Hi Nick - quiet place this neck of the woods - emails are a bit more
sensible, that's why it's quiet.
My post was half-joking.

Well there are 5 ish,  #5 seemed to disappear as fast as he appeared.

My own preferences : 8020, 8842 the two sets I love the most. What more can
I say?
Colour, wit, humour, they have it all. I mean where do you sit in an 8020
even IF you are the size
of a mini-fig? Great stuff.
Most painful lego experience :  I parted with a 8251 as a present last
saturday (went to a good home though).
Most recent acquisition - my second 8853 arrived today.
Next acquisition : Depending on the post probably another 8020 (or 5090!)
Oldest set: 066 from when I was a lad.

... [you have] a fair whack of technic stuff ...

Looking forward to seeing that list of yours! Might even be able to help you
extend it (or shorten it!)

Drop me a line anytime - too many UNBELIEVERS looking at this;
not to mention DISBELIEVERS (351 landed (c. 72000 pieces)
frightening thing is, I think had only about 25 sets before last Christmas.

Hello!
There's three of us, then? I've been lurking on Lugnet for a while
and just found the Irish Local group. I'm in Dublin West, nearest
Lego supplier is Smyth's in Tallaght :)

Any chance we can get a conversation going here?

Nick.

Howiya Nick!
There's about 5 of us now - but we don't seem to speak a lot!
Smyth's in one form or another seems to be the nearest to most us (but not
always the cheapest!)
What's your poison?
Mine is Technic, Model Team and those 'Sculpture' sets on Lego Shop@home
(plus most other themes from time to time - I like to dabble..)
Have you any old sets (from your childhood, or someone else's)?
(That's a bit presumptuous, maybe you're still in your childhood - I'm in • my
second, or is it third....?)
What else?
How long?
Talk to us (veterans!) and we'll point you to some good sources (to empty
your wallet quicker than 'the blink of an eye'!)
BTW, Welcome along!!
(In the meantime you can do a bit of background sussing on us at Lugnet's
'Membership' section and search members by country - and don't believe all
you read about Ronan's collection of sets, he's a bit confused about
reaching 300 sets (but I think that means 'pieces'))
;-)

Kieran.

Can I be number 6??? I'm from Cork and have the Mindstorms RIS kit and the R2D2 kit - what a blast. I have been watching LUGNET for a while now and have tinkered with MCLAD, L3P, POV-Ray, etc. I even built and modelled the BattleDroid. Check out: (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jul-01, to lugnet.loc.ie)

(...) <Grin> I started with 487 years ago. I always wanted to get the bigger one - I modelled it in MLCAD and it's on my desktop wallpaper as I speak. How sad am I? (...) Sooner or later... The list that is, not the extending (or maybe I can finagle (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jul-01, to lugnet.loc.ie)
