Whatever happened to the guys who came to GETS2000 and were AFOLs?  Has any of
them contacted anyone of us (NALUG) yet?  They might be able to assist with
Calgarty.  I posted a challenge for locals to host a train show on the Calgary
Lugnet site quite some time ago, without any replies!
Michel

Supertrain 2001 - Michel can't do this, but is willing to provide the tables • &
some track & stuff for our use.  We've been invited, and IIRC, someone
(Steve?) is in e-mail contact with them.  Supertrain is in Calgary, in
February - this means we're moving the whole shebang about 4 hours south in
probably crappy weather.  I'm willing to commit to the show, but only if
there's going to be at least 4 people there for the weekend (not necessarily
all 4, all weekend - but for setup and teardown & enough to allow some shift
rotation).  Is anyone else willing & able to commit to Supertrain?

OK.  Looks to me like we don't currently have enough people to be able to do
Supertrain.  Steve is willing and able; John is willing, and might be able; I
am able - but only willing if we have a guaranteed crew of 4.  Michel & Chris
can't, and no one else has responded.

:/
I'd like to do Supertrain, but it's not happening right now.  The show is 4
months to the day, with a bunch of the prep time being eaten up by the Silly
Season (X-mas et all).  If don't get this going soon, it won't go.

X-posted to .loc.ab and .loc.ab.cal to see if local interest can be drummed up
to give us a hand.

James

(...) That one guy was a definite AFOL, but he hasn't shown up - strange. That's the second time you've mentioned a "Calgary LUGNet", but I have no idea what you're refering to. Is it an RTL type thing? James wrote: (...) Agreed on local Calgary (...) (24 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug, lugnet.loc.ca.ab, lugnet.loc.ca.ab.cal)
