  Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

A while ago there was discussion of having some kind of LUGfest on the Australia Day long weekend. As I recollect, the only concrete proposal on the table was Richie Dulin's offer to organise a hall in Hornsby (URL) are we at with this? Kerry -- (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) At the risk of a Mee Too! post, I'd like to know what's happening. Are there many interstate visitors expected? I think the discussion stalled because everyone went "oo good idea!" then got distracted by christmas. Richie. think it's safe to (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

I said previously ... (...) I retract what I said about the long weekend. According to my diary, we are celebrating Australia Day on Saturday 26 January, with no extra public holiday. So, it seems there isn't a long weekend after all. Does that (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) According to my Dilbert Wall Calendar (and could one find a better source for such information?), there is an Australia Day holiday on 28/1/2 in ACT, NT, SA,Tas and WA. Up until Christmas we weren't expecting one in NSW, but the evidence in (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) WELL...to the best of my knowledge we'll be getting the monday off down here...at least that's what the tight-Ar**d company I work for is saying, and who am I to argue. The bad news is that with preperations for Feb 22 [1] underway, I'll be (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) I'm pretty sure we have a holiday Monday in Vic. I'll have to check for sure though. If so, I'd like to go. If anyone's interested, I was thinking I could rent a car for the w'end & bring the harbour bridge. Only down side is I could probably (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

"Richie Dulin" <rdulin@mailandnews.com> wrote in message news:GpK0to.702@lugnet.com... (...) Well, I'm interested, and I recall discussing it with Sue Ann who said she was also interested on the condition that it be on a Saturday, the reason being (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) A colleague provided me with this list of State Government WWW sites for public holidays in that state: QLD: (4 URLs) of them show that Mon 28 Jan is now a public holiday in their respective states. So Thunderbirds Are Go for a meeting on (...) (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

I don't think I will be able to make it after all. My other construction project probably requires me to continue with it instead. Martin (23 years ago, 8-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) Given the foregoing sets of messages, I am a bit confused about whether we are going ahead or not. I'm interested to know this because I will be booking a cheap (and hence non-cancellable) plane ticket. A few of the MUGs have said they can't (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) I'm available, and am strongly in favour of it happening (and am happy to organise a venue if Kev is unable to. There are a few halls on the list, and I'm guessing that 27/1 is not likely to be too busy). I have also just demolished almost (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) OK... sorry I havent got back sooner.. been real busy.... I cant get a hall organised up here.. sorry... so I'll leave it up to you Richie.... if ya need any help setting up..... just let me know.. I'm not far away..... Kev..: ) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) Richie, you might as well book the hall. Any further North will just add to any interstate visitor's travelling time. pete.w (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) I'd like to be there, but if driving, wouldn't want to be by myself, and if flying, would be limited in what I could bring. Ben & Martin definitely aren't going, but I haven't heard from any other MUGs yet. ROSCO (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) Maybe you guys will just have to postpone it for a few months and just come to Brisbane ;P - at least you'd have almost 6 months to build :) Mel (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

LUGfest Details (Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?)

(...) The Hornsby Heights Hall was already booked :-( (Curse those children and their birthday parties). There is a more available, more convenient, slightly larger, but more expensive hall available, so I've gone ahead and booked that. What: S'Fest (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) Oops! Sorry, must've slipped by while I wasn't watching! (...) Cool. I've been toying with the idea of bringing "the bridge" - it'd be kinda fitting for it's first public outing to be in Sydney 8?). If I do, I'll need a station wagon to fit it (...)   Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) Also got mail from Sue Ann with a "probably not". Upgrade to "definitely not" if it's on Sunday. Sue Ann also asked me to pass on that the June long weekend is 1 week earlier in WA. ROSCO (23 years ago, 12-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) Definitely Brickwars! I can field a nice pirate era contingent, so would be happy with that. (though I don't mind castle era either, and we never did have that Town Brikwars event) James - do you want to establish a suitable Plot and Scenario? (...)   Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?

(...) <waking up suddenly> Who me?!? Well, if you want to play, sure. Pirates? Can do. Are we playing with ships or not?   Re: Australia Day weekend LUGfest?
