You'll be hungry by Albury (ETA about 2~3pm for a 9am start from Richards),
I'd suggest stopping at Goulburn for brunch and then possibly again at Gundagai.
There's the usual petrol/fast food places at both of these spots and you
don't even need to deviate off the freeway.

Get your speed checked for free just as you join the Freeway in Victoria!
(note readings over 117km/h are not given). There's an odd sign along the
way that tells you not to pick grapes by the roadside, something about flies?

Isn't Ben's place north of the city? you'll be well safe of Trams and hook
turns there. Though Melbourne drivers are bad just about anywhere! Watch out
they like overtaking on the left hand side at lights! That is if they
actually have stopped at the lights...Does the VIC road book read as - "A
red light means its your last opportunity to enter the intersection" ??
There's a good chance that I'll be in Albury on Saturday too, though I
wasn't planning on leaving there until evening. So if you lot do end up in
Albury late (say after about 7) then I can come in tag too, Note I have a
very recent Melway that may come in handy.
I have a place to stay (read: floor space) if anyone needs it, though
staying at my place is akin to camping. I have no carpet, no spare mattress
and sheetage is very rudimentary.
Also I stay in St Kilda which is quite some distance from where the meet on
Sunday is, but then I have car so its not a problem.
If I can be of any help then email me and I'll give my mobile number.
