Was the aircraft carrier in TRU ? I have been waiting for it's release
here.

Yes, at TRU at Garden City Shopping Centre (Mt Gravatt, Brisbane).

They also have models of a speedboat and a race car and a monster truck.
They definitely have a more 'blocky' appearance.

Yes, judging solely from the box pictures, I would say that Megabloks are
using fewer specialised pieces than an equivalent Lego set. There seems to
be a high proportion of old-fashioned bricks in these sets. Perhaps all the
Lego purists will have to convert to Megabloks :-)

Grey bricks...a couple more aircraft carriers and you're on your way to
building that castle you had planned.

You read my mind! Indeed, my plan is to build the aircraft carrier and if I
am satisfied with the experience, rush out and buy more Megabloks sets just
for parts. Lots of grey in the battleship and aircraft carrier. Lots of
greens and sand-beige in the tanks. Lots of blue and yellow in the fighter
plane. Etc. Building a solid castle with Megabloks would be a LOT cheaper
than building it with Lego.
