Re: Read Sales in the Subset —Pete White
(...) Looks to have great parts, 16 castle windows :^) , only 4 lattices :^( (...) That is just to annoy Richie. (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Read Sales in the Subset —Richie Dulin
(...) I've been quietly fuming ever since I read Michael's post. A blue piece!? How could they!? Don't they undertstand their fan base!? No wonder it's called blue. I don't know what I'm going to do, but I'm certainly going to be buying less of (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Read Sales in the Subset —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Na. Not serious enough. It was almost TOO predictable. Better luck next time. But if it's unfounded criticism you fancy, you spelt understand wrong. Hope that helps! (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Read Sales in the Subset —Richie Dulin
(...) Not serious enough!? It's blue! You just don't understand how seriously some people (well, one people) feel about this colour... (...) That's obly because I was so irate about the inclussion of *blue* in an otherwise exellent set! ;-) Cheers (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Read Sales in the Subset —Michael Dallaston
(...) To be fair, it is one of these: [LDrawPart 30526:1] Not the most useful piece ever made... I reckon they're just trying to ged rid of all their blue stock before next year, where we will see new 'Bluish' Blue, shifted toward the blue spectrum (...)          Re: Read Sales in the Subset —Paul Baulch
(...) Do you know why they made that piece? Along with [LDrawPart 2458:1] They provide a way of connecting modules without having the Technic peg migrate to the wrong side when disconnecting. The two-pronged version provides a way to connect modules (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

Re: Read Sales in the Subset —Michael Dallaston
(...) Everyone seems jumpy on Lugnet today... perhaps it's just me. I didn't mean to imply it was useless, just that it wasn't a major buying point of the set. I'm by no means a brick-purist, and am all for new and non-standard pieces, except when (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

Re: Read Sales in the Subset —James Howse
(...) I remember said converstation and reacanted immediately. Though I will point out that, in context, it was an odd choice. The model it came in made no use of the peice's improved functionality. And yes, I have spent more time building and (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

Re: Read Sales in the Subset —David Laswell
(...) It's hard not to, unless you attach it so the wings hang off the sides unattached to anything. It's got a 2x4 base instead of a 2x2, which immediately gives you twice as much gripping power. (20 years ago, 16-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

Re: Read Sales in the Subset —Richie Dulin
(...) Does it? Sure it grips twice as many studs, but does that mean twice the gripping power? Even if double the studs mean double the grip, the piece adds more height, which gives better leverage for getting the piece off whatever it's attached to (...)             Re: Read Sales in the Subset —David Laswell
(...) Well, it'll be affected by the fact that the 2x2 version has considerably different internal geometry than the 2x4 version, but the 2x4 version has much more sturdy geometry than you'll find inside either a 2x4 brick or plate. It's built like (...) (20 years ago, 20-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

Re: Read Sales in the Subset —Allister McLaren
(...) Additional to that, with the 2x4 version, you can lock it down much more securely by building over the plated ends. A (20 years ago, 20-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

Re: Read Sales in the Subset —Paul Baulch
(...) In that case, I must apologise for failing to remember the entire discourse... :-( Cheers, (URL) Sci-Fi LEGO> (20 years ago, 17-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

Re: Read Sales in the Subset —Richie Dulin
(...) Actually, I like both these parts, because they provide a technic peg (or two) on one side and a smooth surface on the other. Of course I never would have a use for them in blue, though ;-). Cheers Richie Dulin (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

Re: Read Sales in the Subset —Pete White
(...) Now if Richie had received some of these parts in his knights bus set, the offending axle could be removed, leaving one perfectly good axle, well apart from the off-centeredness. No need to phone Denmark or open new sets. More twin parts to (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)
