Meeting in Sydney (or... learning how to post again) —James Howse
Oh dear. It's been a while between posts. Anyways, I've moved house out to Sunny Dee Why, been promoted (sort of, pending somone else's leaving) and are having some holidays. And what better use for holidays than building with LEGO (after getting (...) (20 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Meeting in Sydney (or... learning how to post again) —Richard Parsons
(...) Mmmmm. I seem to have been largely elsewhere also. (...) I'd be only too pleased to see the gang again. (...) Not much I'm sorry to say, and what there has been is largely of the heretical variety. If I'm not careful, I could be run out of (...) (20 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Meeting in Sydney (or... learning how to post again) —Richie Dulin
(...) Indeed. It's been a while. (...) Yes, alas the settlement of Port Brique is (a) not easily transportable and (b) not located at my place of residence, so a public viewing is not likely for a couple of months yet. However, it is modular, and (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

Re: Meeting in Sydney (or... learning about Napolean) —James Howse
(...) I'd been fine with that, pending some tips on what kinds of buildings (and other scenery) to bring to fight around and, more importantly, someone pointing out what time period weapons and tactics Napoleanic actually covers. Sorry I know it's (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Meeting in Sydney (or... learning about Napolean) —Richard Parsons
(...) Very late 1700s, early 1800s. Depends a bit on whether Richie is keen for us to think that Napoleon is invincible. Later the better is my thought (obviously :-). Its muskets and cannon, horses and brightly coloured uniforms that scream 'here I (...) (20 years ago, 14-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

Re: Meeting in Sydney (or... learning about Napolean's dates) —James Howse
(...) Being a medi-evil kinda guy horses are not a problem, neither cannon (if I raid the pirate ships I have sitting around) but big hats? (...) Sounds like a job for the green felt again! (...) I've been working on minifig scale Cathedral (...) (20 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Meeting in Sydney (or... learning about Napolean's date) —Robert McLean
<snip> hi guys, I am finally delurking. Have moved all my LEGO to Oberon (oh, and wife and kids too), about 2-3 hrs from James. BUT I might be able to swing in for a StudFest with a small army of cavalry and infantry, and maybe terrain and trees. (...) (20 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Meeting in Sydney (or... learning about Napolean's date) —Richie Dulin
(...) Either date sounds good to me, too. Don't forget, when planning your Napoleonic armies, that God is on the side of the best Artillery: (URL) And watching some Englishmen playing with some (URL) Congreve Rockets> might be entertaining too.         Re: Meeting in Sydney (or... learning about Napolean's date) —Richard Parsons
(...) Mmmmmm. I must do some research into Germans. They seemed to have a certain style: "To the meaningless French idealisms, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity, we oppose the German realities, Infantry, Cavalry, and Artillery." Prince Bernhard von (...) (20 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

Re: Meeting in Sydney (or... Cementing Napolean's date) —James Howse
(...) So everyone is fine with the 29th? Let it be so then. James (who baggeses the Austrians... ooh! Jaegers!) (20 years ago, 18-Feb-04, to lugnet.loc.au, FTX)
