  Re: Brisbane a Lego wasteland?

(...) I noticed that here in the UK after last Christmas. Lego have tried to minimise oversupply and have been selling better than expected so the stores are probably undersupplied after Christmas. Bad for sales but good for long term outlook. Tim (18 years ago, 15-Jan-07, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Brisbane a Lego wasteland?

(...) Same in my part of Sydney. If there wasn't a LEGO shortage before, there is now ;^) My local TRU was the barest I have ever seen it. -pete.w (18 years ago, 15-Jan-07, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Hi everyone

(...) Welcome to loc.au Aaron, it's a bit quieter than it once was, but there are still readers reading. Some nice stuff in your brickshelf gallery, the people over at boats might want to have a look at your Seabourn Destiny. There's a few serious (...) (18 years ago, 15-Jan-07, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Hi everyone

Hi everyone - I've just joined up with LUGNET and looking forwad to getting to know a few new people who also enjoy Lego. I am in Perth so would be interested in meeting people from here, but anyone from across Australia would be good to chat with. (...) (18 years ago, 15-Jan-07, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Brisbane a Lego wasteland?

I have noticed the same here in Perth. There seems to be a distinct lack of LEGO anywhere. (18 years ago, 15-Jan-07, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Brisbane a Lego wasteland?

I ventured into Indooroopilly Shoppingtown in search of Lego for a child's birthday. Where is it? Just about everywhere the shelves were bare or had only a few items not suitable for the child in question! I ended up giving the kid a couple of (...) (18 years ago, 15-Jan-07, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Sydney Fan of Lego Rumpus

(...) Well I'm finally moved into the new place, only took 2 calls to get my phone re-connected, pretty good really. And everything looks pretty much ready for my Sydney suarez, but I'm not sure how much I'll be able to bring with me. Truth be told (...) (18 years ago, 8-Jan-07, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Sydney Fan of Lego Rumpus

I thought i should give this one a bump just incase there are any more closet afols out there wanting to get out there. does that make sence ? Well all sorts of mocs are being completed in time for the rumpus. This gathering seems like it will be (...) (18 years ago, 7-Jan-07, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Some idea of set release dates...

(...) Actually I tend to plan my spending around the clearance sales. For the most part I don't buy sets when they come out new unless they have a 20% off special at the start (like what happened with the big batmobile at target). The castle sets (...) (18 years ago, 7-Jan-07, to lugnet.loc.au)

Dick Smith has 25% off Lego

I happened to drop into my local Dick Smith at Indooroopilly today. They had Lego (and Meccano and some other toys) at 25% off. Now Dick Smith doesn't carry much Lego, but they did have a big stack of the NXT robotics set which is a much nicer price (...) (18 years ago, 26-Dec-06, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Another bizarre part substitution

Bought a 7708 EXOFORCE Uplink for my son today, when he spread the parts on the bench, I thought...hmmm..how will they incorporate that latticey castle window piece into the set. Anyway, heard the missing piece cry go up, thinking it has probably (...) (18 years ago, 23-Dec-06, to lugnet.loc.au)

  2 blasters short !

Star Wars 7654 has a fig inventory pictured on the back, that includes 4 tan droids, each with a blaster. The front of the box artwork only has 2 blasters visible, one held by a droid and one sitting idle on one of the craft. The inventory picture (...) (18 years ago, 23-Dec-06, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: another possible set scam on aussie ebay

(...) Thanks for the heads up Pete, seems to be a few scammers and shammers on Aus ebay, and the more we know about them the less effective they are. Have a Merry Christmas Gary (18 years ago, 22-Dec-06, to lugnet.loc.au)

another possible set scam on aussie ebay

Be careful when buying 'New Sealed' LEGO sets on ebay. If a fixed price listing is too good to be true, like less than wholesale, then it's possibly dodgy. Especially when the same seller has had an auction run to higher than retail for the same set (...) (18 years ago, 22-Dec-06, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: 7654 @ Kmart

(...) Looks like you guys are more in need of snowmobiles at the moment. There may have been more SW sets here, but Kmart have 20% off here, plus being the week before xmas, they were possibly snapped up quickly. Mosaic sets would be nice to spot ! (...)
