The Halloween season kicks off tomorrow at LEGOLAND California with the
opening of the Spellbreaker--a castle themed suspended coaster--and a host of
other items that I think you will enjoy. I hope many of you can come visit the
next few weeks and take advantage of the unique opportunities outlined below.
[As an AFOL I have written this with you in mind.]
1. Limited edition, "Brick or Treat" bricks will be handed out while supplies
last (one per person) at one of six "Brick or Treat" candy stations on the
walk from the front gate up to Castle Hill. You must visit all six stations
to get your brick. The brick is a white Duplo 1x2 with a "Brick or Treat"
logo on one side and the LEGOLAND California logo on the other side. The
printing is in orange, red and black.
2. Build a pumpkin at Castle Hill! Here's your chance to get some orange
bricks for $5. Remember the Halloween buckets at Target a few seasons ago?
We have created a variation of the pumpkin depicted on the side of the bucket
and will make these available as a build-it-yourself kit for $5. The model
design is two studs deep and the only source I know of for long 2x orange
plates and certain orange slopes. (Sorry, I do not recall the parts count.)
3. Miniland USA! Today we stocked Miniland USA with ghosts, goblins, zombies
and all sorts of creepy Miniland scale creatures. A special treat along the
New York skyline is a giant marshmallow man and some ghost hunting characters
I am sure you will recognize. The cemetery in New Orleans and even the White
House have Halloween-themed miniland scale surprises. You've got to check it
out!
4. Spellbreaker! This new suspended coaster zips you around a large figure
eight track passing by ghosts, skeletons and other spooky critters. This
attraction shall be a permanent fixture in our Park (as you already know).
5. The King's Treasure. Recently we added a new medallion to our King's
Treasure activity on Castle Hill.
6. Majisto wands. Based on the popular wizard minifig, you can now buy your
very own safe and foamy magic wand.
Keep in mind that the Halloween "Brick or Treat" celebration runs from October
13th to October 31st and that the brick elements are limited edition and
subject to availability.
I am enjoying my new job here and I hope you can all respect the fact that it
is one of my goals to drive business to the Park, to the Brand, and to keep
you informed of cool things that I think you will enjoy. I would love to meet
some of you the next time you are here! Bring your friends and families!
