Re: LEGO Company Welcomes Adult LEGO Enthusiasts

I buy lego sets for the designs, and for the experience of building someone else's design. I really feel that building a set is a form of performance art, and the lego instruction developers are true artists, and it is fun to see things come (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

UK gets a raw deal again

The new Spybotics sets, such as 3806 Gigamesh G60, (URL) are GBP59.99 in the UK, or $59.99 in the USA. I make that about 50% more! Surely such a difference can't be justified. Could it be a mistake? Huw (22 years ago, 1-Jul-02, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Metroliner from S@H: Complaint!

I received my two sets yesterday and my track was in the same condition. I also noticed the white strip on the doors was almost gray. Other than that, everything was fine. I was also suprised at the small size of the box. I've never seen a box from (...) (20 years ago, 3-Jun-04, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Strange pricing: 4222 vs 4288

In TRU there are two similar "Classic" building sets, 4222 and 4288. 4288 is the "Red Bucket" and 4222 is a box. 4288 contains 400 pcs. and 4222 contains 355 pcs. The part selection in both sets is similar; the notable difference is that 4222 has a (...) (24 years ago, 12-Aug-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: bulk should mean more than 10

(...) Yes, but overhead is just the problem. Since few people need 50 windows, they wouldn't sell many sets, and the overhead of creating and advertising the package would be divided among fewer sets. I was trying to do one of Lego's surveys, but only to state my opinion about the present of the company.   No wonder they were quiet when I made a suggestion.
