Re: Goodbye Lego and thanks for all the bricks

(...) "System" to me is more about an interconnected play world, with original, open themes, than it is about the particular form of the figures. Playmobil has its own "system," for example. Lego could conceivably develop a new one based on a (...) (23 years ago, 12-Nov-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Guess who paid for those eToy Lego bargains?

(...) Yes and no. Have you ever been to a store specializing in train models? I have been to several. There happens to be a hardware store on University Ave. in Berkeley, CA that has a model and train hobby section in the basement. Point being: from (...)   Re: bulk ordering is (not) here! (was - Re: bulk ordering is her e! )

MY thoughts on the whole thing are that TLG just needed to add extra to cover S&H charges, and make it possible to order via S@H USA, or through their web page, for Australia and countries in a similar fix. How they handle things like import duties, (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Brick Quality Issues (was: 7171 tolerance)

(...) I agree 100%. I've noticed more smearing on paint recently, mostly on Star Wars minifigs. I've gotten at least two minifigs who's faces look like they're in a wind tunnel. As for the decreased quality of the plastic, I know that the newer (...) (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) I think the display base is glued up to avoid any need for instructions. That's what Jake's note that you're quoting says, anyway. (the note speaks of it being glued in two sections for ease of shipping, presumably one section is the vertical (...) (23 years ago, 3-Apr-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) I'd disagree with this as a reason. The whole Legends series is geared more towards the older collector. Your reasoning would also preclude the Breezeway Cafe, the Pizza to Go, the Guarded Inn, . . . Also the whole sculpture series (both SW (...)   Re: Modifications to Hagrid's Hut - A New Roof

From my little corner one of two things can make a legend: 1) The original 'model' was creative, imaginative and showed off what you can do with the parts included (Guraded Inn, Redbeard Runner) 2) The original set contained enough variety and (...)
