  Re: Bulk Pricing (Interesting comparison?)

(...) I know where you're coming from. Back in 1987 I bought NINETY of the 517 small basic sets just to get enough windows (180 1x4x3 yellow and 180 1x2x2 yellow) to finish my 25 story ONE SHELL PLAZA Art Deco office building back then (building is (...) (...) Time for me to hop on the soapbox too. :) When I first heard they were going to make "bulk" packs available, my hope was that they'd do something like "1000 assorted white" for $30, and so on. The term "bulk" usually implies "large quantities (...) (24 years ago, 14-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) Since i came out of my dark ages almost 2 years ago, I haven't paid MSRP for any non-SW set. As you said, the value for the dollar just isn't there. (...) I'd gladly pay a premium price for an unopened older castle set (6071, 6067, 6074, 6086 come to mind) before I pay full or even 70-80% of full retail for the junk they have on the shelves now. Is there a bottleneck in Billund? No I don't mean problems in bulks sales, what I mean is "rare colors". (...) Hmm. Looks to me like 6987 only has 3 1x8 bricks, so you'd be dropping about $1200 bucks to get your hands on 25 1x8 bricks going that way. And of course, you're SOL if you don't want black ones. Me, I'd spend the $5.99. Or were you not (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)
