Based on some comments I've heard, I think I won't be bidding on any
Metroliners any time soon. Of course that might still slip into the
Classics line.

Answer those questions to yourself and you will have some sense of the
relative possibility(1) of bringing Metroliner and Airport Shuttle back. I
came to two very different conclusions about these two items, unfortunately,
since I do dearly love both of them. One is possible, the other, in my
estimation, is not, although I would be delighted to be wrong about it.

If you think of it that way then i would say the metroliner is very
possible(ie the window packs,plates etc still being made) VS very few of the
parts from 6399 being made(ie track,mono train cars etc.)

Very little, most likely. Same for the 4547, which I'd really want to see if they
released the 4558. I own 5-7 4547s, 2 still MISB, but I'd love MORE for parts ;-)

Those aren't really rare, and they still have to have the molds - they made the Deutsch
Telekom sets last year.

Not rare, still have the molds, most likely - 4559.

DEFINITELY not rare anymore, they're in some Creator sets this year.

Bicycles were made recently with the Telekom promo sets (1196-1199). The
lamp posts are currently in on of the Mickey sets and I think one of the
Creator sets. The train nose pieces most recently appeared (in yellow) in
4559, the train cab window was in one of the ResQ sets and the Time Cruisers
flying boat thing.
The part that hasn't been in anything recently (that I know of) is the large
(1x5x4) panel doors that are used on the engine.

The monorail motor, the monorail motor cover, the monorail chassis pieces,
the various track pieces used... those were the biggies in my estimation,
with the monorail motor being an order of magnitude, or *more*, (1) harder
to put back in production than any of the others.
1 - Consider the implications of what is involved to manufacture a part that
has a motor and gearing within it. It's not a matter of just putting a mold
back onto a molding machine. You have to put a whole assembly line back
together, or farm the work out to a third party.

very excited about what at first seemed to be 2 classic 1x1 windows in
yellow added in step 25:

This actually came up in discussion not too long ago in .castle-- as for
parts not seen in the past 3 years:
-Saddle w/ single clip (1992?) [easily replaced w/ 2-clip version]
-Minifig Head w/ solid stud (?) [easily replaced w/ hollow version]
-Plastic Minifig Cape (1993)
-1x1x2 Shutter (1996?) [this can't be right, can it?]
-1x4x6 door (1996?)
-Castle Corner wall (1997?)
-Knight Helm w/ Grille (1997)
The only other component would be printed elements:
-Flag w/ tavern print
-Corner castle wall w/ tudor print
-Castle wall w/ tudor print
-Castle wall w/ bricked window print
-Shield w/ lion & yellow background
-Shield w/ falcon & yellow border
-Torso w/ beads and neckline
-Torso w/ breastplate print

The $25 price for a 246 piece set in and of itself is *amazing* when you
consider that King Leo's Castle has 524 pieces for $90, the Royal Joust has
99 for $20, and Bull's Attack has 307 for $50.
Then to factor in how brilliant this set is, and all of the pieces and
printing they had to do for what is essentially a one-set theme, begs the
questions: Does this mark the end of juniorization in castle? And will we
see other Castle Legends that incorporate the Crossed-Axe Knights tudor
walls, Falcon & Crusader shields, etc., in the near future (like August?).

I have a bunch of the 2585s (http://guide.lugnet.com/set/2585 -
http://www.brickshelf.com/scans/2000/2585/) I'll be parting out (I mainly
want the brickster torso, and some of the small train wheels)...
Who would be interested in the train "superman", with both heads (regular
and with red mask over the eyes) and cape? I'll probably want to
sell/trade off 10-20 of them.
Any idea on a value to place on them? Somewhat high, since they are
somewhat unique, but HOW high? They'd be great for people into comic
books, to build superheros.

I've never seen that torso ANYWHERE else, and when I displayed at NMRA last
year, that's the only piece that was stolen, that minifig :-/

I'm keeping ALL of those brickster torsos (LEGO Racing Team, to compete
against the Lugnet Racing Team I'll be building), but I don't see a problem

Ok, I noticed this on peeron when I was looking through 6067's inventory,
but I checked the instructions for the Lego Loco set (2585) on brickshelf
and I didn't see it there-- I had figured it was a mis-entry on peeron... Is
this the right set to be looking at?
