Re: New LEGO Toys Based on Jurassic Park III

Hi Todd, (...) Hm, right now, not even one week later, the first images of the JP3 sets have popped up at another website and people started a discussion about them on Lugnet: (URL) do you say now? Would you now say we are allowed to talk about (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: NDAs

(...) But the meetings were just the beginning. They are history. The dialog continues here with all AFOLs. We should all continue to provide input to help make TLC a better company. (...) Okay, your point is well taken. The term "gift" probably (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: The effects of Bulk Sales are evident....

Wow Eric, great job! Looks like small town Main Street USA. I really love folks building in historical styles. With attention to historical detail, the results can be great. I noticed Eric that you used one of my favorite pieces, namely the very (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

  Re: NDAs

(...) Sure. Lately people have become infected with the idea that LEGO Direct will or won't like us based on posts in lugnet.lego.direct. They've somehow gotten the idea that LEGO Direct, as a part of The LEGO Company, will or won't form an (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Mac Java Clarification

Drastically snipped... (...) Is there anyone that finds this as ironic as I do? To run the great anti MS language on the great anti MS computer from within a browser, the browser that works best is the MS browser.   Re: NDAs

(...) I didn't say it wasn't. (...) I didn't say anything about the individuals in question. I have no opinion of any of the individuals in question, never having met any of them. Even if I were to meet them, though, it would be important to (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: NDAs

Mostly agree, so mostly snipped. (...) Can you elaborate on this? I agree that knowing that LEGO is a company and does things for company-ish reasons is important... I mean, I've been saying since *forever* that LEGO is a company and that things (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Mac Java Clarification

(...) Jake, I know other people have commented on this item, but I wanted to clarify a few things. I work at Apple and used to work very closely with the MRJ (Macintosh runtime for Java) team in their developer support organization. It sounds like (...)   Re: The effects of Bulk Sales are evident....

(...) Although I wouldn't call myself a genius I would have to agree with you 100%. I have been working on my Main Street scene for the NELUG Train Layout and the Town building contest and Much of it would not have been possible without bulk sales. (...)   Re: Let's be realistc

(...) And let's face it: profit has to be a primary motive in any company. It doesn't matter how altruistic you are, how much good you do, or how right you are-- if you don't turn a profit, you only get to do it once. Even though LEGO has no (...)   Re: The effects of Bulk Sales are evident....

To All, Gary makes an excellent point. Although my building has not been too much as of late, the building I have built for the train show would not have been possible without some strategic orders, mainly the 1x4x3 windows and the arious white (...)   Re: NDAs

(...) A priviledge, yes. A gift? No. LEGO got just as much, if not more, out of the meeting than you did. It's important to remember that LEGO is a company. LEGO is not your friend, it's not your enemy, it's not Santa's workshop. They don't do (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: The effects of Bulk Sales are evident....

You are so right, Gary! From my own experience, I have built/am building 5 large buildings which all employ bricks from bulk which simply were not obtainable in any economical sense otherwise.   Re: Target market

How do they know who's buying what percentage? I mean, when I buy a set at Walmart or Meijers or K-mart (hooray for BOGO) nobody is tracking who I'm buying it for (almost always me, but I do get them frequently for Birthday kids). How do I express (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)
