  Re: Sticker Shock...Lego Direct?

(...) - (...) Well, I believe there were probably all kinds of overhead with fulfilling your order that could be reduced or eliminated with the kind of plan proposed for Lego Direct. For example, your request probably resulted in a search for the (...) (26 years ago, 6-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: Sticker Shock...Lego Direct?

(...) I think that you "hit the nail on the head" Richard. They aren't doing this for charity. They are doing it to make money. And if it involves labor intensive processes, you can bet that the 5 cent parts will only be found in the buckets and (...) (26 years ago, 7-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: Sticker Shock...Lego Direct?

(...) It all depends on how it's handled. If I'm buying true bulk (thousands of pieces), I don't want LEGO to count out individual pieces -- weighing my purchases will be close enough, and is a heck of a lot cheaper than paying a packing-monkey to (...) (26 years ago, 7-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego)

Re: LEGO Direct catalogs in Canada?

I am so luck!!!...!!! I got a Shop-at-home SRING 2000 catalog. If you want to see it, reply and I will put it up on my Webpage. But that doesn't mean it is up to date. I ordered from it and over half the stuff was discontinued. I was TICKED OFF! I (...) (26 years ago, 10-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Why Lego, Why

This is to Brad. Why is Lego not making pneumatics. I ordered to sets of hoses, switches, and cylinders and only got the cylinders. Is the hydraulics taking over? If they are I wish they would make cylinders you can control like the pneumatics. Adam (26 years ago, 10-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Why Lego, Why

Hydraulics? I can't ever remember seeing any mention of LEGO developing hydraulics. If they are going to be using hydraulics, though, I think they'd better be using better hoses and fittings, fluid isn't that easy to hold under pressure. -- Cheers (...)   Re: Why Lego, Why

(...) They have new cylinders which they call hydraulic. They're actually spring-based shock absorbers with a pneumatic cushion -- no real hydraulics involved at all. And unlike the old pneumatic system, they can't be interconnected. (26 years ago, 12-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Why Lego, Why

Is that like those compressed-air automatic door dampeners and closers? IMHO, that's a really poor substitute for real pneumatics, and is in no way hydraulic. I don't mean to be sounding mad or anything, but can't TLG stick with something that (...) (26 years ago, 12-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Why Lego, Why

(...) I don't think that this is meant to be a substitute for the pneumatic system. It's just a fancier shock absorber. [ ft -> .technic ] (26 years ago, 12-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.technic)
