Re: Anyone else notice the stair problem???

John: You were right in the essentials, you can certainly use a plate beneath the lowest step, and then a short series of plates descending to the uppermost step to lock the staircase into place (without getting fancy, you'd need a minimum of three (...)   Re: Anyone else notice the stair problem???

(...) You have the beginnings of a good idea, but I am not sure your current suggestion would work for the top-most stair (unless I misunderstand what you meant). What is your attachment point on the top stair? I can certainly see some possible (...) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: Anyone else notice the stair problem???

(...) If you have the non-defective stairs, a jumper brick placed directly below both the bottom and top-most steps should secure the staircase in place. (There are probably other schemes that would also work as well or better, but a jumper brick (...) (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Review of 4714 (Gringotts) + scans of new pieces

I finally was able to get this set at Wal-Mart. I took some pictures of the new elements in this set, as well as Hagrid's face (for kicks). (URL) Pawel (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.reviews)

Re: Anyone else notice the stair problem???

(...) I also have two sets of stairs (32 total steps, I guess?) none of which had any problems-- how many NON-defectives do you have? IE what percentage of your steps were faulty? Did you buy them retail? From S@H? DaveE (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: Anyone else notice the stair problem???

(...) NP, I thought they were defects, this proves it for sure, because everyone would have had them if they were suppose to. Doyle I hope others dont find out what I did! I had 98 Stairs pieces that were bad. And still more on there way. (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: Anyone else notice the stair problem???

(...) I myself own two of the spiral stairs and they are without the wrong type stair-elements. Kind Regards, Ben (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: Anyone else notice the stair problem???

Hmmm, I am not really sure what you are getting at -- all I see is that some of the stair elements seem to be designed to stack with slightly different rotations, either slightly left or right. This discrepancy doesn't change the utility of the (...) (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: Anyone else notice the stair problem???

(...) An easy way to check is to spiral them and see if there are gaps, if there are then you see the steps in question. Doyle (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: Anyone else notice the stair problem???

(...) I think you miss my point? The ones with the _l_ point away from the triangle are the ones that wont over hang or slide to far. The ones with the groove pointing toward the triangle are the ones that really only work, by placing them 180 (...) (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: Anyone else notice the stair problem???

Re: Anyone else notice the stair problem???

Doyle: (...) Amongst my elements for the spiral staircase, I note that there may be two kinds of stair elements: one with approx. 1/2 the overhang of the other which is itself quite wide. I am not sure that this is a defect per se, as I am pretty (...) (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: Anyone else notice the stair problem???

  Closer Look at Newer Pieces

Due to some requests, I took some pictures of the new pieces in some of the new sets like the Troll, the faucet, and the pumpkin head. I will post more as I open up the sets: (URL) Pawel (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: Alternate Model of the Month

Hmmm ... you are right - the year completely slipped my mind. D'oh! I was going strictly on price here. How about: Snape's Class - (URL) not that expensive and it has a good number of elements. -- Pawel (23 years ago, 17-Dec-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)
