Re: Harry Potter Trailer on MSN.com

Hi all...this is my first post to LUGNET after lurking for a couple of weeks...I think I can hang out here (I even signed up for a membership!). I don't know about MSN, but the trailer is hosted on Apple's QuickTime movie trailers site: (URL) see (...) (23 years ago, 7-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: Harry Potter Trailer on MSN.com

(...) I know what u mean.. The casting directors certainly took a long time to get all the appropriate actors in the parts, and they all look perfect! I'm a big fan of Harry and his world...I have all four of the novels and the two new Schoolbooks (...) (23 years ago, 7-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

(...) Would you be interested in posting the link so we all can check it out? thanks Mark (23 years ago, 7-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

Re: A lurker finally comes out of the darkness...

Welcome, welcome! It's always good to have another castlehead. :-) I hope to see MOCS of yours in the near future. We've got high expectations around here. Don't be like me and not show anything new for 8 months. <grin> (...) (23 years ago, 7-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

  Harry Potter Trailer on MSN.com

Looks very cool - I just bought the book, too, and I can't seem to put it down for long. Harry looks just like I imagined, without the scotch tape on his glasses! Tatyana Tanya Burkhart (23 years ago, 7-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

  Re: minifigures in robes?

I just hope they use minifigs. With all the new larger figures coming out now, I am really hoping they don't use them just to help reach a younger audience. Bryan Beckwith "jonathan Lill" <jonathanl@myriadweb.com> wrote in message (...) (23 years ago, 7-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

  Re: Harry Potter Schoolbooks

(...) thought (...) Yes! The schoolbooks came out about March 12th? or something. Anyway, first week or two in March. They are called, Harry Potter Schoolbooks: Quidditch Through the Ages, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Amazon has them (...) (23 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

(...) It is when there is a bunch of "equipment" that Dudley is playing with.... (...) I hope if it is Hagrid's, that it comes with Hagrid, Fluffy (3-headed dog), and the flying motorcycle....or maybe they will be sold separately....? (23 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

  Re: minifigures in robes?

(...) They may make a new cape-like-thing that covers both the front & back of a figure. (...) You can make minifigs look great on a broom, just make them look like they're running, with one hand back and one forward (holding onto the broom), and (...)   Re: minifigures in robes?

I don't think they'll bother with the bottom half of the robes. The mini-figs will just have normal legs, maybe with a cloak. Look at how the Imperial Guards were portrayed in #7166: (URL) that outfit didn't qualify for a new robe portrayal what (...) (23 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

  Re: minifigures in robes?

(...) I disagree. Broomstick riding is such an integral part of the stories that I expect Lego to alter the piece to allow the minifigure to straddle it. This is not difficult, it simply requires the narrowing of a small part of the handle. The (...) (23 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

  Re: minifigures in robes?

I hate top say it but i figfure they are going to take the easy way out. The robed figures will have dress bottom like on the midevil witches, with black capes just as we've seen on the star wars and castle sets. The Broomstick will no doubt be the (...)   Re: minifigures in robes?

(...) I was thinking of this earlier, and thought of something which might work. It seems like Lego could make a robe out of the 'cape/sail cloth' the same way Kenner made capes for Obi-Wan, the Sandpeople, Darth Vader, etc. out of vinyl back in the (...)   minifigures in robes?

I have been wondering whether they are going to make robed minifigures like harry and friends at school or Dumbledore. With some I can see them getting away with a cape but otherwise it seems hard to avoid. And would they do it like the castle (...) (23 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

  Re: new sets speculation....

(...) Yes! I'm sure it's Hagrid's. Sometime ago, a pic ostensibly of the set of Hagrid's House set was put up on the net, and it was either of a hexagon or octogon in shape, and constructed of tan colored stone - though it could have been wattle. (...) (23 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

  Re: new sets speculation....

(...) Since I use Lego to make a European train layout, I'm really rooting for the Hogwarts Express, and lots of Euro style buildings. A castle would be awesome as well. Lots of castles in Europe. Would look great on my layout....... Katie (23 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)

  Re: new sets speculation....

(...) Excellent post!! Umm.... But the paperback version of the first book has been out for a while. Cheaper than $15, but I can't remember off hand how much it was. $8 maybe? The second book is also available in paperback. If you really liked the (...) (23 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.harrypotter)
