  Re: McDonalds Info

(...) Definitely looks like it might be. Plus Purple would go with Grimace. (...) This is true but this is an official LEGO picture so I would guess that the color rendering is better then any of the second hand scans we usually get. Eric Remove (...) (25 years ago, 27-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: McDonalds Info

(...) It could certainly be the new blue-purple color -- the one that shows up in the new DUPLO Dinosaurs sets. It's not purple, and it's not blue, but it's in-between. It's a *gorgeous* color and it does look great with yellow or orange. What's got (...) (25 years ago, 27-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.promo)

  Re: McDonalds Info

(...) I wish! I asked about this and it was either $1.69 or $1.79 before sales tax, they weren't sure which yet. I'm hoping they erred on the high side... /Eric McCarthy/ (25 years ago, 27-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.promo)

  Re: McDonalds Info

(...) I'm currently leaning towards that, too, but I'm not counting out regular blue yet. However, I do think the green is regular green. I think the lighting is just brightening everything up, 'cause the yellow looks brighter, too. Jeff "I've had (...) (25 years ago, 27-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.promo)

  Re: McDonalds Info

I'm guessing that some of the apparent new colours are due to a change in the plastic used by TLG. If you take a close look some of the new bricks in the Star Wars sets, and compare to a standard brick in the same colour, you can sometimes tell that (...)   Re: McDonalds Info

(...) They are "medium" pink - not the light, not the really dark, but a "true" pink. At least on the one on display I saw this morning. (...) I bought 1 while buying 2 HMs, and the HMs were $1.99, the set was $1.83 - so at this point, I'll buy the (...) (25 years ago, 30-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.promo)

  Re: McDonalds Info

(...) Is that a new kind of pink then? There've been two kinds of light pinks -- but in 1994/1995, TLG phased out the original on that appeared in Paradisa. Is the McD's pink different from the Belville pink/mauve? --Todd (25 years ago, 30-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.promo)

  Re: McDonalds Info

I just picked up the first four sets. I had to go to about 8 McD's though. Most had just 1 and 2. The pink in #3 is the same 'darker' pink as in the Belville sets. There are 3 2x8s, 1 4x4, and the 2x3 printed slope in the pink color. Joe (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.promo)

  Re: McDonalds Info

(...) I'd say (without having other pink pieces on hand to compare it to), that the pink in the McD's birdie-plane is definitely between the light and darker pinks of Paradisa. But I wouldn't described it as a 'true' pink -- it's too bold. Steve Set (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.promo)

  Re: McDonalds Info

(...) My local WM-McDs finally got set #3 today. I bought a few. When I got home I compared a pink plate to the two (or is it three) pinks used in Belville 5870 'Pretty Playland'. This Belville set has a poor box, but all the baggies are sealed. (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.promo)

Grimace is Violet, like DUPLO Dinos (was: Re: McDonalds Info)

(...) OK -- got it! It's not blue, and it's not purple, and it's not even indigo -- but in fact it's violet -- the same exact hue as the new DUPLO Dinosaur. :) Waycool! (...) There's another piece that is an interesting dark bluish purplish color. See the plate used for the vanity table top in #5805 Princess Rosaline's Room. Does that match any of the above? /Eric McCarthy/ (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.promo, lugnet.basic)

I mentioned this a week or two ago in a Mcdonalds thread. My local McDonalds has a display with all 8 sets. Imperial Violet is my Holy Grail of lego colors and it is finally available.
