  Trading sets

Where is the best place to trade LEGO sets? I'm interested in trading one or more of my sets for a train set. (18 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Lego factory?

(...) Thanks again, Tim. Looks to be a browser issue. I can get into it fine with another browser. Thanks once again, Jonathan (18 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Lego factory?

(...) I believe there is a time limit to models not uploaded to the gallery. You could be running into that maybe? Here it is uploaded again (URL) it should now appear in the gallery sometime Tim (18 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

  Lego factory?

It doesn't appear that purchases of custom factory models can be made. I wanted to buy 10 more dark red walls for my town: (URL) Does anyone know what is up? Can this be part of moving production to other countries? Seems to early for that, no? (...) (18 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

  Re: TLGs wasteful box sizes?

From the very first basic sets of 1949, until 1965.... all Lego Basic Sets were nicely housed in flat boxes with all the elements displayed in checkerboard and zig-zag patterns. It was almost like opening a box of chocolates, with everything so (...) (18 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: funny article from the Philly show

(...) ... (...) Well, duh. This didn't give it away? "Oh, there's one more explanation for all this -- from my wife. "The trains go around in circles and they spin their wheels a lot," she observed after we had been gawking for more than hour. "And (...) (18 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.general)

Re: "seeking help for freeware PC game"

(...) Yes, if you are not familiar with the original "Operation Wolf", it is a 2D game. And so will be my remake. OpWolf is a late-80's arcade classic.. www.klov.com/game_de...me_id=8927 (...) A couple of people, (Danny Staple in particular) have (...) (18 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.gaming.brikwars)

Re: funny article from the Philly show

(...) Well put. Seems to me that there are some underlying issues with the author and his wife;-) JOHN (18 years ago, 14-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: TLGs wasteful box sizes?

(...) snip 8< (...) When I bought a 4757 when thay went on sale at Wally-the-walrus-mart last year, I asked an associate why LEGO boxes no longer hav windows, she answered someting like, "Because kids would tear the windows and steal the elements".   Re: funny article from the Philly show

(URL) "LEGO Trains Tantalize the Standard Male Brain">, from the Courier Post (...) I found this line interesting, "I didn't know you could do that with Legos," my wife allowed at one point. But I could hear the sentiment left unsaid:"Or why you'd (...) (18 years ago, 13-Jul-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Virtual BrikWars?

(...) it's too much out of my areas. Your project reminds me a little of the Lego environment and cars I made in another computer game, I think it was Micro Machines. (...) I assume that you are doing this for a 2d game, or else you'll need the (...) (18 years ago, 13-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.gaming.brikwars)

  Re: TLGs wasteful box sizes?

(...) I hear you, Danny...! Not only technic sets, most of the medium-large sized System sets also had the cellophane window highlighting some of the sets' parts. Unfortunately, they did away with all this cool packaging to save costs. 9 times out (...) (18 years ago, 13-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: TLGs wasteful box sizes?

(...) At least in the case of PC's the dead space can be justified for air flow and cooling. When I received the red technic pneumatic studless truck ((URL) there were two boxes, one for the truck, one for the back end, with some dead space because (...)   Re: Seeking Lugnet community help for a freeware computer game

(...) You're welcome. It's not my site, though, it's Willy Tschager's. I don't think his name shows up anywhere on the site, though, for some reason. --Travis (18 years ago, 13-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.gaming)

  Re: TLGs wasteful box sizes?

(...) You're right, the boxes are definitely way too big for their contents. But in addition to the billboard qualities of a large box, they also help justify the price. It would probably be harder to convince parents to shell out $30 bucks for a (...) (18 years ago, 13-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)

  Re: TLGs wasteful box sizes?

LEGO's standard policy is that the main model on the cover of the box is shown life-sized. (At least that was the policy when I worked at the Imagination Center at the Mall of America.) If LEGO goes to a smaller box size, people will need to know (...) (18 years ago, 13-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  TLGs wasteful box sizes?

A link from a Prius list I run had an interesting blurb: (URL) Wal-Mart wants to help shape a sustainable future, and few companies are in a better position to do so. ...   Re: Seeking Lugnet community help for a freeware computer game

(...) Thanks for the tip Travis, I'd already seen that on your site, but as my MLCad directory doesn't HAVE an "ini file", I presumed that it didn't use one. [*Gabriel goes and tries it out] OH THANKYOU TRAVIS!!!!!! Now I can make minifigs, holding (...) (18 years ago, 13-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.gaming)

Re: Seeking Lugnet community help for a freeware computer game

(...) You can get an updated MLCad.ini file that should support most (all?) of the official minifig parts from here: (URL) (18 years ago, 13-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.gaming)

Re: Seeking Lugnet community help for a freeware computer game

(...) Hmm, I'm not sure I want to re-learn my "cadding" on a new program, but I'll google "leoCAD" and have a look. (...) Actually, MLCad has a minifig generator, which I've been using. It doesn't have all the options as far as different heads, (...) (18 years ago, 13-Jul-06, to lugnet.general, lugnet.cad, lugnet.gaming)
