I hear you, Danny...!  Not only technic sets, most of the medium-large sized
System sets also had the cellophane window highlighting some of the sets' parts.
Unfortunately, they did away with all this cool packaging to save costs.  9
times out of 10, it's to save money...

When I bought a 4757 when thay went on sale at Wally-the-walrus-mart last year,
I asked an associate why LEGO boxes no longer hav windows, she answered someting
like, "Because kids would tear the windows and steal the elements". Mini
smash-and-grab? I remember being a damaged LEGO set window once at TRU in the
early '90s.
